RedZone Sports is an online British sportsbook that focuses on delivering US sports to the UK betting market. The bookmaker is one of many sites operated by Argyll Entertainment, a company based in Switzerland.
Argyll Entertainment are owned by the AHG Group, who are an organisation in the US who specialises in online betting and casinos.
Punters are always looking for a site that offers something a little bit different, and RedZone Sports have certainly delivered.
For any new sportsbook and betting site, a welcome offer is absolutely vital in order to attract customers. RedZone Sports may be one of the newest sites on the block, but the offers that they provide for customers are one of the strongest on the market.
When signing up to the site, new customers can benefit from a 50% deposit match of up to £100. So, if £200 is deposited, you will get £100 extra in bonus funds. In order to qualify for this, your first deposit must be between £20 and £200.
As with any of these offers, there is a wagering requirement of 7x to play through before you can withdraw any funds won using your bonus. Any bet placed must be at minimum odds of 2.00 to contribute to the wagering requirement. You will have 30 days to meet the requirements before your bonus expires.
Alongside the main welcome offer, RedZone Sports have a whole section of bonuses for bettors to get involved in. There are also bonuses for playing casino whilst there is a WhatsApp service that punters can join for free, where they receive enhanced odds that aren’t available on the site.
Just like the ‘Rewards’ section mentioned at the start of the review, RedZone Sports have shown real ingenuity in the offers that they provide for not only new customers but to regular bettors as well.
Like many of the sites operated by Argyll Entertainment, RedZone Sports is also powered by platform provider, SB Tech. It is a reliable system that runs smoothly, and punters who use sites such as Sports Nation will be familiar with the layout that RedZone Sports have incorporated. As expected with a sportsbook that focuses on US sports, there is a strong American theme throughout the design of the site, with red, white and blue fonts paying a subtle homage to the American flag.
The interface is easy to navigate, with all the main markets and features clearly marked. At the top of the page, bettors are presented with a number of tabs including sports, in-play, casino and daily enhanced odds. On the left-hand side, punters will find all the sports markets listed by popularity, whilst the latest in-play betting markets are presented in the centre.
Other sportsbooks may have a more modern feel to them, but it has to be noted that RedZone Sports provide an organised site that is designed to help customers find what they are looking for.
A lack of a mobile app is a drawback, but the site is optimised for most web-enabled devices.
Currently, RedZone Sports only offer three of the more traditional payment methods with Credit and Debit cards as well as Bank Transfer.
This is pretty limited considering the wide range of options available elsewhere. On the other hand, when it comes to minimum deposits, £5 is a fairly low sum and is perfect for those who bet with smaller stakes.
A withdrawal request has to be for at least £10, while the withdrawal times for all payment methods are 3-5 working days, which is on par with most online sportsbooks.
Despite only being launched in 2017, RedZone Sports have developed a strong reputation within the online betting community. This is partly down to their margins and limits on US sports, giving them an advantage over many other sportsbooks. However, when it comes to customer support, there are areas to address.
Currently, RedZone Sports don’t offer 24/7 customer support, with no phone service while their live chat option is restricted to 10 hours a day.
When the customer support team are available, representatives have been noted to be very responsive and helpful, either via live chat or by email.
On top of that, there is also a comprehensive FAQ section that provides answers to most betting queries.
One of their newest developments has been the rewards section on their site. A lot of betting sites offer bonuses and free bets to punters who sign up with them and continue to bet with them.
RedZone Sports have taken their rewards one step further, offering prizes for customer loyalty. For instance, betting as a member of the site allows you to accumulate points that can be used to access prizes such as jewellery, gadgets as well as free bets and bonuses.
RedZone Sports have shown real creativity in this aspect, and if they can continue to evolve in that way, they have the potential to pose a big threat to the industry giants such as William Hill and Betfair.
One of the major plus points in using RedZone Sports is their extensive selection of sports to bet on.
As expected from a sportsbook that specialises in US sport, there is a vast variety of markets to bet on for American football, baseball and basketball, with almost 50 options per US event. These markets don’t just focus on the US though, as for example in baseball, RedZone Sports provide markets for over 10 countries including Japan, so there is a huge range of options for punters to peruse.
The level of coverage for US sports is very impressive, but don’t worry if American sport isn’t your thing. Alongside US sport, RedZone Sports also deliver plenty of sports that those in Europe are accustomed to. These include football, tennis, cricket and horse racing, as well as more niche events such as table tennis.
The types of bets on offer are also very varied, ranging from outrights and handicaps to more obscure selections such as own goal markets for football.
When it comes to odds, RedZone Sports provide excellent value, allowing them to compete with industry leaders. In creating their own lines and odds for US sports, they are prepared to deliver super-sized limits for all their customers, which helps them stand out from the crowd.
RedZone Sports have also started to introduce enhanced odds, which falls under their ‘Today’s Best Boosts’ section. Offers pop onto the console each day, offering punters enhanced odds on sporting events. These can include bets such as a certain player to be the top goalscorer at the World Cup or a team to be eliminated from the tournament via a penalty shootout.
When it comes to live betting markets, RedZone Sports offer an impressive selection. There are up to 90 markets offered for the most popular sporting events which often relate to US sports such as basketball, as well as football, tennis and cricket.
Live outrights, points/goals and handicap markets are all included as part of the in-play service, as well as the option to a full or partial cash-out on live bets. To accompany live sporting events, customers are provided with graphics that show key stats such as points/goals scored as well as delivering live descriptions of how an event is progressing.
The overall live betting experience with RedZone Sports is pretty good, but the absence of a live stream to watch the action unfold, means they still have room for improvement.
If US sports betting is your game, RedZone Sports are certainly worth considering. The quality of the markets and odds provided for these sports is second to none and more established bookmakers such as Coral could learn a thing or two from them.
In addition to that, they haven’t neglected the sports that a UK market like to bet on, with the major and niche sports all covered.
As expected with any new sportsbook, there are of course a couple of drawbacks. The lack of live streaming does hamper their in-play betting service while the absence of a 24/7 customer service is an area that needs addressing sooner rather than later, while launching a dedicate app is also something that needs to be looked into.
However, despite these faults, RedZone Sports have achieved an awful lot in a very short period of time. With the level of progression that they have shown and the ingenuity that is present in a number of their features, they are definitely a sportsbook to keep an eye on for the future.
