What is PrizePicks?
PrizePicks is a Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) site where you make multiple sports picks and obtain a payout if your predictions are correct. In November 2025, it introduced its prediction-market product, where users can trade Yes/No contracts on sports and other real-world events.
As I covered in my unbiased Underdog Predict review, PrizePicks lets you buy or sell the probability of an outcome in real time. Before I fully explain how it works, here are some key facts about this platform.

How does PrizePicks work?
Traditionally, PrizePicks functions as a daily fantasy sports app. It features Player Picks, which allows you to predict the outcome of players in any of the following sports events:
- National Basketball Association (NBA)
- College Basketball (CBB)
- Major League Soccer (MLS)
- National Football League (NFL)
- Ultimate Fight Club (UFC)
- eSports
All you have to do is pick 2-6 players, predict if they’d perform more or less than their projected stats, and lock in your picks with real money. If your picks hit, you can obtain a payout. Also, the more you add to your Player Picks lineup, the higher your potential payout.
PrizePicks also introduces a new prediction-market offering through its subsidiary, Performance Predictions II, LLC, a federally approved Futures Commission Merchant. Users on PrizePicks can make predictions on sports, entertainment, and pop culture directly within the PrizePicks app.
This product is made available thanks to the brand’s multi-year partnership with Kalshi, another prominent prediction market provider. PrizePicks organizes its prediction markets into two main categories: Team Pick and Culture Picks. Let’s see how each works.
Team Picks
This feature lets you trade contracts on sports events. You essentially select any sports event and pick your expected outcome. The platform provides a binary contract for each event: Yes or No. Regardless of which you choose, you’ll see an estimated payout if the contract you purchase ends up being correct.
The contract price fluctuates between $0.00 and $1.00, depending on the outcome’s popularity. Interestingly, you can trade the outright winner, spreads, and totals for each sports event. After selecting your preferred outcome, you can lock your picks in with real money. If your prediction is right, you’ll get a payout.
To provide a hypothetical example, let’s say there’s a football game between the Seattle Seahawks (SEA) and the New England Patriots (NE). You’ll find a series of questions attached to this event. One of them can be “Will the Seattle Seahawks win this game?”
When you tap the contract, you’ll see the implied probability (as a percentage), which becomes the current price (in US dollars). Based on traders’ sentiment, the current price for the Seattle Seahawks to win could be $0.55 (a 55% chance of winning). If you choose YES, the platform will provide your estimated payout if the contract settles at $1. You can purchase as many YES contracts as you wish.
As the game goes live, PrizePicks lets you track it in real time via its mobile app. If the Seattle Seahawks end up winning the game, all your YES contracts settle at $1. You then receive an extra $0.45 for each contract purchased. If the team doesn’t win, all contracts are settled at $0, and you receive nothing.
While engaging in different Team Picks contracts, I noticed that you can adjust your payout to show multipliers. So, if a sports team is in form to win a game, a smaller multiplier is attached; if a team is an underdog, a higher multiplier is attached. The maths remain the same if you’re using the traditional “$0 and $1” style or a multiplier.
Culture Picks
Not a sports fan or interested in non-sports events? PrizePicks got you covered with its Culture Picks. Here, you can make picks on different non-sports events, including music, economics, politics, climate, and movies. Let’s review each of these markets.
🎨 Pop Culture Markets
Under pop culture, you can predict music and movie award winners, such as Will Taylor Swift be the top artist of the Year? or “Will Michael B. Jordan win the Best Actor at the 2026 Oscars? These markets are presented as binary questions (Yes or No), just like the ones I found during my Polymarket review.
You’re either right or you’re not, and each contract ranges from $0.01 to $1.00. PrizePicks resolves each contract as soon as the event concludes. If you pick correctly, the contract settles at $1.00. An incorrect pick? It settles at $0. This variety keeps the platform active when sports events are out of season.
🗳️ Politics Markets
Here, you’ll find binary-style markets around elections, policy outcomes, and approval ratings. For instance, you might predict whether a specific bill will be passed or if a candidate will win a major race. Each contract settles at either $0 or $1.00, depending on the outcome.
📈 Economics Markets
On the economics side, PrizePicks gives you a chance to track major financial signals without needing expertise in macroeconomics. The markets typically revolve around inflation trends, interest rate decisions, or currency movements.
For example, you can predict whether the Federal Reserve hikes rates at its next meeting or if inflation stays above a certain level.
💰 Crypto Markets
PrizePicks runs prediction markets on various cryptocurrency outcomes. That includes Bitcoin price milestones, key crypto laws, and the overall market trend.
However, the options for crypto calls are fairly limited on PrizePicks compared to the one I found during my Crypto.com review. That prediction market platform provides more depth for crypto enthusiasts and traders. But for someone like me who enjoys sports and wants to make that occasional Bitcoin prediction, PrizePicks’s offerings are just enough.
🌍 Climate Markets
The platform also covers various climate and weather-related markets, such as forecasting temperatures or precipitation levels in specific cities. The selection here is limited, but I find it enough for non-sports traders looking to explore other real-world events.
PrizePicks eligibility requirements: available states and age
Given the different prediction markets that PrizePicks offer, it’s important to know if where you reside allows you to participate. Well, during my tests, eligibility requirements differed for Team Picks and Culture Picks.
That said, Team Picks is available in all US states (plus Washington DC) except:

Regarding Culture Picks, 48 US states (plus DC) are allowed to participate in trading event contracts. The two regions that you can’t trade are Nevada and Arizona.

You can also download the PrizePicks app, which uses geolocation every time you open it. If you’re unsure whether you qualify, that page takes thirty seconds to check and saves you any confusion at sign-up.
Age requirements also differ by state. Most states set the minimum at 18. Alabama and Colorado require users to be 19 or older. Arizona, Massachusetts, and Virginia require you to be at least 21 years old to sign up.
PrizePicks usability: How the brand looks and feels
Browsing PrizePick’s desktop site was a breeze. You’ll find categories, like Pick Now, How to Play, Resources, Research, and Promos, at the top. As you scroll, you’ll find information on each of its products. In fact, you’ll see the map of the US highlighting states that can trade either Team Picks or Culture Picks.
That said, the mobile app is clearly where I think PrizePicks invested most of its design effort. Available on both Android and iOS, these highly rated apps allow you to swipe through different sports events, tap on contracts, and make a purchase in seconds.
As someone who recently had a full FanDuel Predict review, I noticed that PrizePicks’ interface had fewer product layers and menu options, which made it very easy to use.
Live tracking on submitted entries works well. Once you’ve placed a contract, the app updates you in real time as each event plays out. As such, you can follow each projection as it changes, allowing you to lock in a winning outcome or manage a losing one.
PrizePicks sign-up offer and promotions
For a user new to PrizePicks, you get to enjoy a $50 bonus instantly when you use $5 to predict outcomes (via Player Picks). Regardless of the outcome of your initial play, you still get this bonus.
However, this bonus doesn’t extend to PrizePicks Predict; you cannot use it on Team Picks or Culture Picks.
I also didn’t see any promotions or loyalty programs attached to this prediction market platform. Simply register an account and start purchasing Yes/No event contracts.
PrizePicks payments: Reviewing its deposits and withdrawals
Getting money in and out of PrizePicks is fast and flexible in my experience. Before trading Team Picks or Culture Picks, you can add funds to your PrizePicks account via:
- Visa debit cards
- Instant Bank Transfer
- Apple Pay
- Mastercard debit cards for eligible states (not available in South Carolina)
The minimum deposit is $10 across all methods, and there are no deposit fees. You may connect up to two (2) cards, one (1) bank account, and one (1) PayPal account to your account if you choose to.
On the withdrawal side, accepted methods include:
- A verified personal bank account
- PayPal
- Venmo
- Debit cards
The minimum withdrawal is $10. To request a withdrawal, go to the menu in the top-left corner of the app. Then, select “Request Withdrawal.” The operator will then send a One-Time Password (OTP) to your email. Once you input the code, PrizePicks will start processing your request.
I should mention that only one successful withdrawal is permitted during a 24-hour time frame. If your withdrawal request is processed at 12:00 pm, wait till at least 12:01 pm the following day before making another request.
Also note that before any withdrawal is possible, every deposit must be used to trade on an event outcome at least once. As such, if you deposit $100, you must trade $100 worth of contracts before those funds become eligible for cash-out.
PrizePicks customer support
I tested the live chat during my review. I asked a state-specific eligibility question that wasn’t immediately obvious from the FAQ. I got a reply within three minutes, and it addressed what I actually asked.
From my experience, live chat runs 24/7. Also, the email support (support@prizepicks.com) responds within 4 hours. The platform also maintains an active Discord server where both staff and experienced users answer questions.
Safety and licensing at PrizePicks
PrizePicks operates as a prediction market platform rather than a traditionally licensed sportsbook. It’s operated by Performance Predictions II, LLC, a CFTC-registered Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and NFA Member. You can find its licensing in the footer section of its official website.
Despite robust licensing, PrizePicks is upfront about the fact that event contract trading carries significant risks, and there’s no guarantee against losses.
On the security side, the platform uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption on all transactions, two-factor authentication for account access, and identity verification at sign-up. It's also nice to see that the platform runs a responsible trading program with deposit limits and self-exclusion tools accessible directly from account settings.
How to get started on the PrizePicks prediction platform
Getting started on this platform is simple and takes just a few minutes. Here are the steps to follow to register and start trading different sports and cultural event contracts:
- Click the banners on this page, which will redirect you to PrizePicks’ official website
- If you attempt to sign up, you’ll be prompted to download the PrizePicks app. There’s a QR code you can scan with your smartphone’s camera.
- Once you scan the code, you’ll be directed to your platform’s app store (Google Play for Android devices or the App Store for iOS devices).

- You can track the event live and see your price change probabilities in real time. You can safely lock in a win before the event ends or manage a losing outcome during the event.
- Once the market ends, PrizePicks settles all events. If your outcome wins, your contract settles at $1, and you’ll receive a payout. If your outcome loses, all contracts settle at $0, and you won’t receive anything.
