What is Phygitals and how does it work?

Phygitals is an online marketplace and mystery pack site for trading card collectors. You can either buy mystery packs from a virtual claw machine, or buy and sell specific graded cards, known as slabs, in the marketplace.

Although everything happens online, the products are real. You are buying authenticated, pre-graded, physical cards that are safely stored in the vaults of several partners, including PSA, Alt, and Fanatics, and they belong to you to ship whenever you like.

The name gives away the concept, combining physical and digital to bridge the gap between online and real-world card collecting. It specialises in Pokémon, but also stocks One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, and sports cards across the NFL, NBA, baseball, and soccer.

📦 Storage and shipping

All the cards you buy are secured in vaults until you request them, and there are no extra fees for storage. This lets you build a collection over time and ship it when you are ready.

If you want a physical card, you cover the shipping cost, which varies depending on which Phygitals partner is storing it. Fanatics processes in two business days with delivery up to two weeks and a 3% fulfilment fee, while PSA and Alt both process in two business days with delivery up to seven days at fixed shipping rates.

If you are not happy with a pull, Phygitals will buy it back instantly for at least 85% of its fair market value, no questions asked. Depending on the card, the buyback can reach up to 100%.

This gives you a reliable way to recover most or all of the value of an unwanted card. The instant nature means you are never left waiting, and you can put the funds straight back into more packs or the marketplace. Compared to rivals that cap buyback at 80% or 90%, the potential to reach 100% here is a genuine plus, though the exact rate you are offered depends on the specific card.

What can you rip at Phygitals?

The Packs section is where you buy mystery packs, laid out in a straightforward, intuitive way. A scrollable menu of card types runs along the top, and you can click any to drill down or scroll the full list of packs.

The range here is one of the widest of any card rip site, spanning nine card types from budget $25 packs up to premium $5,000 boxes. The Phygitals Marketplace

Beyond ripping claw machine packs, Phygitals has a full Marketplace where you can buy and sell individual cards. On mobile, you reveal it by tapping the hamburger button.

The Marketplace works much like the Packs section, with card types in a horizontal menu, but it adds a left-hand navigation tree of useful filters including Price Range, Rarity, and Year. On mobile, these are revealed via the Filter option, making it easy to find exactly what you want.

To buy a card, you tap it and hit Buy Now, or you can bid less than the listed price, with your offer valid for up to a month. You can also create a lend proposal or message the seller directly, and each listing shows a valuation history graph, the card's grading, and where it is vaulted. This depth makes Phygitals more of a genuine trading hub than most card rip sites, giving serious collectors a proper platform to track values and negotiate rather than simply opening packs and hoping for the best.

Phygitals payment methods

There are two ways to pay: deposit funds to your wallet, or pay on demand at checkout. If you pay on demand, you can use Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or the Tether and USD Coin cryptocurrencies.

💸 A note on fees

The one real downside on payments is the sizable service charge attached to everything, and there does not seem to be much logic to it. A Pokémon mystery pack carries a service fee of around 4.6% to 4.8%, yet the $50 Elite pack somehow comes in at 6.2%.

Funding your wallet does not help you avoid these charges either. In our testing, a $100 credit card deposit was hit with a $5.47 fee, which works out at 5.47%. It would help a lot if Phygitals listed these fees clearly upfront.

Phygitals welcome bonus

Unfortunately, there is no welcome bonus at Phygitals, and some claims of one online proved false. The closest thing to an offer is a free demo pull available before you sign up, but that is purely for illustration and does not give you a real card.
