Kalshi combos explained
In short, what you might know as a parlay elsewhere most closely translates to a combo at Kalsho. Combos let you combine two or more prediction markets equal to a Kalshi event contract. The mechanics of a combo might look familiar in that:
- You can combine multiple predictions in one
- Every prediction in a combo must be correct to win
- Higher risk combinations can produce bigger profits
A closer look at Kalshi combos
With those basics covered, it’s time to go into a little more detail. A Kalashi combo is a grouped position with multiple yes/no contracts, each one predicting the outcome of a real event in various categories, including business, politics, culture, and sport. The combo does not have to be with the same categories, so while you might opt for a combo of an NFL game winner and highest point scorer, you could also select whether it will rain today and who will win the next primary.
If every prediction is correct, the combo settles, and you get $1 minus any commission - check our Kalshi fees explained guide for details. If even one prediction fails, the whole thing is a bust, and you’ll get nothing.
Kalshi combo pricing
As with regular Kalshi predictions, the probability of the outcome is seen as a percentage, and it also reflects the price. For example, a combo with a probability of 35% will have a price of $0.35 for each contract. This percentage differs from normal contract pricing and will be created specifically for your combo.
When you select your multiple options and combine them, Kalshi sends this to the RFQ (Request For Quote) system, where other market participants generate a price offer. Once you accept the quote, the combo becomes active as its own prediction market. To make everything clearer, here’s a step-by-step guide as to how that might work.
Making a combo prediction
- Log in or sign up - First of all you’ll need to log into your Kalshi account, or open one via the links on this page. If you are signing up, remember to note any Kalshi referral codes that apply.
- Make a deposit - Deposit if you need to, and then navigate to the main page
- Open the combo builder - Select your market and then look for the combo builder option. This is easier on the app than the desktop platform
- Contract selection - Select the contracts you want to combine; these could be across multiple categories, or all in the same one. Please be aware that not every market is available to add to a combo, but Kalshi does say that eligible events can appear as and when, and are more likely to become available closer to the start of the event.
- Build your Kalshi combo - Add each prediction to the combo builder - once you have done this, Kalshi requests a live quote from other users who may or may not respond.
- Review the price - Remember, the lower the price, the less likely it is to happen, but this also has a higher profit potential. So a $0.15 price means the market considers your combo unlikely to be correct, and a $0.89 price points to a far more likely outcome.
- Accept the price - if you like the price that is offered, confirm your acceptance, and the combo becomes active. Please note this cannot be cancelled after acceptance.
- Track your combo - track events until the combo is settled. If all predictions within the combo are correct, each contract will get you $1 minus any commission. If any or all of the predictions are wrong, your contract is worth nothing.
This process will need to be repeated for any future combos, as they are all created on an individual basis. Before we move on, there are a couple of things you need to be aware of:
- All the combo quotes are generated live, which means there might be a short delay, and might result in slight changes in Kalshi prices between you viewing and accepting.
- If no other user responds with a quote, you can’t place the combo and will have to try a different combination or remove/add markets and resubmit.
- If one of your predictions cannot complete, for instance, if a player on your combo does not take part, then that resolves at the original position, i.e., 70% - meaning your combo can still pay out if all other predictions are successful. Just at $0.70 per contract instead of $1.
- If there is a Kalshi sign-up bonus available when you join, ensure that your combo qualifies
Which Kalshi markets have combos available?
As we’ve already mentioned, not every prediction market is available for combos; instead, they appear on a rolling basis. This means that some prior checking will be required to make sure you are not wasting your time. Here’s a breakdown of potential market categories and a possible combo within that category:
| Kalshi Market Category | Example Combo |
| Sports | NFL team to win + number of TDs |
| Elections | Election outcome + share of popular vote |
| Crypto | BTC target price + ETH up in next 15 minutes |
| Culture | Artist Billboard No. 1 + number of Spotify streams |
| Climate | Highest temperature in LA today + highest temperature in NYC |
| Economics | Gas price this month + date of Elon Musk becoming a trillionaire |
| Mentions | What will JD Vance say during his next speech + what will the announcer say during the football game |
| Tech & Science | Will the US confirm aliens exist + will there be another pandemic this year? |
Remember, you can also make predictions across market categories as well, meaning that the scope for making combos is very wide indeed. As you may have seen in our full Kalshi review, with any use of prediction markets, research is the key factor. As well as any personal research you may have done, looking at the previous results in the various markets can also provide a valuable source of information.

Can you parlay on Kalshi FAQs
Can you make parlay predictions on Kalshi?
Kalshi is not the type of platform where parlays are possible, but a similar option does exist. Kalshi combos allow you to combine predictions, all of which need to be correct for the market to settle in your favor.
Do Kalshi combos all have to be from the same market category?
No. You can combine a prediction market from Crypto with one for Elections, provided they are both available in the combo builder.
Can you choose any prediction markets for a Kalshi combo?
In theory, yes, but in practical terms you’ll have to see which events are available for combos. Kalshi does say that eligible events can appear dynamically, and are more likely to become available closer to the start of the event.
How are prices for Kalshi combos decided?
Once you have selected your combo, Kalshi requests a live quote from other users via the RFQ (Request For Quote) system. They will respond with price quotes for you to review, or not all, in which case you will need to try again with a different combo.
