This promotion for new customers is a deposit bonus up to $1000. This sounds like an amazing offer at first glance, but don’t be too excited just yet. Let’s take a look at the fine print.

The bonus amount is equal to 20% of your first deposit (minimum $5). This means that you need to deposit $5000 in one go in order to receive the full bonus amount. The wagering requirements for this promotion are a little more complicated than usual: for every $25 you spend (on either the sportsbook, casino or the fantasy contests), you get $1 in bonus money released into your account.

That’s a roundabout way of saying the wagering requirements are 5x your deposit – if you deposited the full amount of $5000, you need to play through a total amount of $25,000. If you make bets on the sportsbook, the minimum odds are -300 (1.33). You have 90 days from your first deposit to meet the requirements.

As you can see, just to get $1000 in bonus money and any subsequent winnings, you need to spend a whopping $25,000. It doesn’t look so amazing anymore, does it? Still, if you’re a high-roller, you will probably find it very useful. Low-stakes or casual players may not find it beneficial – even if you deposit $50 and get $10 in bonus money, you have to spend $250 in wagering requirements. It’s not exactly worth it for ten bucks.

DraftKings is essentially split into three separate websites for each product – daily fantasy sports, the sportsbook and the casino. Each of these has an alternative version of the DraftKings logo: daily fantasy sports has the original logo – a green ‘D’ wearing an orange crown with no background; the standard sportsbook logo and the casino logo both have a white ‘D’ and crown, with the former on a green background and the latter on a black background. These slight variations are a very nice touch, as they create the impression of separate arms of the same brand. It all feels very professional.

When you visit each of the separate product sites, you’ll see that they each have a similar layout but slightly different colour schemes. The themes match the individual logos. All three sites have an aesthetically pleasing appearance; they are uniform but distinct at the same time. The interface is easy to navigate around, even if you’re not used to online betting. All of the important links and information are across the top, down the left-hand side in the website footer. And on the sportsbook, you’ll find the BetSlip on the right.

As for the mobile app, you’ll find that it’s just as attractive and easy to use as its desktop counterpart. It has most of the same features, so you should find it a perfect substitute for the website when you’re betting on the go.

We found that DraftKing’s customer support is extremely responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall they are very helpful in all regards. Though the support staff themselves deserve high DraftKings ratings, unfortunately the means of contact aren’t as good as most sites, as there doesn’t seem to be a live chat feature or any phone support. Therefore we’re forced to give average DraftKings ratings overall.

Once your friend(s) create an account and make a deposit, both you and they will earn a prize. Here’s how it works:

• If your friend deposits $25-49, both of you will receive a $25 bonus bet.
• If your friend deposits $50-99, both of you will receive a $50 bonus bet.
• If your friend deposits $100+, both of you will receive a $100 bonus bet.

This is limited to 5 referrals per offer period. Bonus bets are valid for 30 days.

And finally, the invite-only VIP program. This is only available to DraftKings’ most loyal customers – so the only way you can get that sought-after invite is through long-term frequent play. This VIP program works the same way many rewards and loyalty programs do: as you spend money, you receive loyalty points (called ‘crowns’); the more ‘crowns’ you get, the higher your loyalty level eventually becomes (there are 6 tiers, from bronze to black); and the bigger and better your rewards get.
