An overview of DraftKings Predictions
DraftKings is a brand that has been around for years. But now, DraftKings has launched a brand new platform focusing on prediction markets. With DraftKings Predictions, you’ll be able to trade on the outcomes of various real world events. Although DraftKings does tend to focus on sports markets, I also found available markets for crypto, politics, economics, cultural events, and business.
Featured sports at DraftKings Predictions
Since DraftKings Predictions tend to heavily focus on sports markets, it’s worth taking a closer look at them. From the homepage there are a range of sports to choose from, both in the left hand menu and in the horizontal scrolling bar at the top. In the menu I found:
- Tennis
- Baseball
- Basketball
- Football
- Golf
- Motorsports
- MMA
- NFL
- CFB
- Formula 1
- Sailing
The sports and popular respective leagues available will of course depend on the season since the majority of events do not run year round. Let's take a look at a few of the markets available in these sports. The MLB is an obvious place to start since that’s currently ongoing as of the time of writing this DraftKings Predictions review. The most obvious way to make predictions is to predict which team you believe will win a match. For each event you’ll see the available odds to help you make your prediction. For a single MLB matchup, I found three main different markets available: Run Line, Total Runs, and To Win.
I also found a lot of tennis matches which is no surprise given its Wimbledon season, one of if not the biggest tournament in tennis. It’s the one everyone wants to win and you can have your say on each match. I also found the option to predict Wimbledon futures, which meant that I could trade my predictions on who I thought would win the whole tournament. To do this all I needed to do was look through the players and then either predict Yes (they would win) or No (they would not win).
DraftKings Predictions sign up offer
I always like to take a look at the available promotions, especially given that DraftKings is usually quite good at regarding its users. One thing I did notice was a bit of a lack of offers across the board, but I did put this down to the platform being new. I imagine that DraftKings was more focused on getting things up and running, but hopefully there will be more promotions launched soon.
For now, I found a sign up offer for new users where you can get $150 in Predictions Dollars, after your first trade worth at least $5 . This means that you will receive bonus prediction trading funds after your first trade. You’ll need to place trades for a minimum of $5 to qualify for this offer, which is lower than similar platforms. To claim this offer simply sign up for your new account using our links and make a qualifying trade at DraftKings Predictions. You won’t need a DraftKings Predictions promo code to claim this offer, just a new account and a minimum deposit.
Other markets available at DraftKings Predictions
If you’re perhaps not a sports fan, then you will find seven other topics to make predictions on. These are: crypto, the stock market, commodities, politics, culture, business, and economics. Trading on these markets will look a bit different, simply because they will all be based on specific questions.
| DraftKings Predictions categories | Example markets |
|---|---|
| Crypto | Bitcoin all time high by, When will Bitcoin cross $100k again?, CME CF Ethereum Real Time Index |
| Politics | Party to control US Senate based on Results of 2026 Midterm Elections, Los Angeles Mayoral Election Winner 2026, Democratic/Republican Presidential Nominee 2026 |
| Culture | TIME’s Person of the Year 2026, Top Song on Spotify 2026 |
| Business | OpenAI IPO Date |
| Economics | Federal Funds Rate for July 2026, Consumer Price Index for June 2026, ECB Interest Rates in July 2026 |
| Stock market | CME E-mini S&P 500 futures (Sep), CME E-mini Dow futures (Sep) |
| Commodities | CME Crude Oil futures (Aug), CME Gold futures (Aug), CME Natural Gas futures (Aug) |
| Sports | F1 Drivers’ Champion 2026, American League MVP |
Crypto
At DraftKings, you can trade on event contracts based on Bitcoin or Ethereum, which are two of the most popular cryptocurrencies. One of the first markets I came across for Bitcoin was ‘Bitcoin price at the end of 2026’. For this I found over 30 options for the range at which I predicted that the price of Bitcoin would sit between by the end of 2026.
For each of these options, there are odds for Yes and odds for No. This then influences the price of each contract and your potential profit depending on how the outcome settles. To find out what your potential profit could be, just choose an option, select the amount you’d like to trade on and then you’ll see your total contract share (if the event settles in your favor).
Politics
With these markets, you’ll be predicting the outcomes of political events that are unfolding in real time. These could be things like ‘Party to win the Texas senate race in 2026’, in fact there’s a market like this for pretty much every state. This is no surprise with the midterms fast approaching, but one thing to be aware of is that the price of the contracts and likelihood that they will happen will be impacted by the news. In other words, the price or probability or an event happening one day, may look completely different the next day.
Culture
This is quite a fun category in that you’ll be predicting the outcome of cultural events. These obviously change throughout the year but right now include:
- TIME’s Person of the year 2026
- Top song on Spotify 2026
- Video game of the year 2026
Now usually there would be a lot more cultural events available to trade predictions on. However, as I’ve already explained, DraftKings is clearly focused on sports, with minimal markets in other areas. But regardless, the way that you make your predictions is the same. You can use the odds to understand the chance of an outcome happening, and then decide which contract to trade on - Yes or No.
DraftKings Predictions is very easy to use
As prediction market platforms go, DraftKings is a very simple one to use. Everything is laid out very clearly with multiple menus which help to quickly load up specific topic areas. Within each topic, there are sub headings running at the top of the page. I use these to quickly move to the markets that I’m looking for, instead of just scrolling through a huge list. For example, in the MLB tab, I could quickly flick between Games, Home runs, 1st inning, Awards and Futures.
Trading event contracts is just as easy. Simply click on the outcome you’ve chosen and you’ll see it immediately added to your trade slip. The trade slip can be found on the right hand side of the page. Enter the amount you’d like to trade, and you’ll easily see the total potential profit. You can then add more picks to build combos, which again, are all displayed in the trade slip.
Make your predictions in the DraftKings app
If there’s one thing that DraftKings does well, no matter what the platform, is a mobile app. They may be taking their sweet time adding more promotions, but the mobile app is already up and running. Much like my Sleeper Markets review, the DraftKings Predictions mobile app is available to download from both the Google Play store and Apple app store. So no matter what device you’re using, you can enjoy prediction trading on the go. When I tested it out, I found that the app generally follows the same black and green aesthetic that DraftKings is known for. All of the markets are laid out in the same way, except you’ll forfeit the left menu in favor of the horizontal one at the top of the screen.
It seems like users are enjoying the app as it has a 4.6-4.8 star rating across both app stores. You’ll find all the same markets from sports to politics, all available for you to trade in the app. The big plus of the app is that you’ve got a lot more freedom of where you make your trades. As long as you’re connected to the internet, you can literally make them anywhere you like. And you can keep an eye on any active trades you’ve got running too.
DraftKings Predictions has a range of payment options
When you first sign up to DraftKings Predictions you’ll of course need to deposit trading funds. What I really like about this platform is that the minimum trade is only $5, which is pretty low for a site like this. This is the case for every deposit, no matter what option you choose. To fund your prediction trading account, you could use the traditional option of debit cards and online banking, or choose from e-wallets like Apple Pay, Venmo and PayPal.
After you’ve made your predictions and maybe got some of them correct, you may be looking to withdraw some funds. Requesting a withdrawal is fairly straightforward, you just need to head to your account, click on your balance and then select withdraw. Choose the amount that you’d like to withdraw, select your method and then confirm.
All of the payment options that are available for deposits are also available for withdrawals, which is great to see. When I tested this out, I received an email as soon as I’d requested my withdrawal. This was just to say that my request had been received and was being processed. I then received a second email once it had been processed, with an estimated timeline.
| DraftKings payment methods | Minimum deposit | Deposit time | Withdrawal time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Debit cards | $5 | Instant | Up to 24 hours |
| Online banking | $5 | Instant | Up to 2 business days |
| PayPal | $5 | Instant | Up to 2 business days |
| Venmo | $5 | Instant | Up to 2 business days |
| Apple Pay | $5 | Instant | Up to 24 hours |
Surprisingly, it looks like the fastest withdrawal methods from DraftKings Predictions are debit cards. Just keep in mind that this could take longer depending on your bank. Apple Pay is also a fast withdrawal method and worth considering if speed of withdrawal is important to you. With that said, all withdrawals from DraftKings are fairly quick, taking a maximum of two days.
Trading fees at DraftKings
Another thing I just quickly wanted to mention in this action is trading fees. Now trading fees are very common at prediction market sites, and DraftKings is no different. The fees you pay will be dependent on the price of your contract. Now you’d like that it would be the higher the price the higher the fees, but that’s actually not the case. The reality is that the closer to $0.50 the contract is, the higher the fees. Here’s how the fees actually break down:
- Contracts priced between $0.01 and $0.19 = $0.01 fees
- Contracts priced between $0.20 and $0.96 = $0.02 fees
- Contracts priced between $0.97 and $0.99 = $0.01 fees
So as you can see, the highest fees that you’ll pay will be when you purchase contracts between $0.20 and $0.96. Keep in mind that these fees will be calculated per contract that you purchase. So for example if you purchase 10 contracts at $0.30 each, then you’ll pay $0.20 in fees.
Customer service options at DraftKings Predictions
Just like I discussed in my Coinbase review, when it comes to customer service I don’t pull any punches. It’s really important to me that users are properly supported while making trades at DraftKings, regardless of your experience level. Thankfully, this platform seems to understand this very well and has a live chat feature that’s available 24/7. I’d say that this is the easiest way to get in touch with the team if you have a query, as most can be resolved in just a few minutes.
To access the live chat, just head to the Help Center and then click on the green message icon in the bottom right hand corner. The chat will open as a pop-up and you'll be connected to a member of the team in a minute or so. When I was browsing the Help Centre, I came across loads of FAQs that had all been divided into handy categories. This included:
- Placing a trade
- Managing your funds
- Managing your account
- Rewards & promotions
- Budgets and controls
- Additional topics
There is also a search bar which you can use to just type in your question and then load up the closest answer. I tried this out by typing in ‘how to make a trade’ and was presented with a list of articles: ‘Placing your first trade’ and ‘What is DraftKings Predictions?’.
There are a couple of different ways to contact the team if you’d prefer these. You can request a callback or you can post a letter. These methods won’t be as fast as using the live chat, but it’s completely up to you and your preferences. Some users prefer to speak to someone directly, so I do think it's great that DraftKings has this option. I think it also goes to show that there are a lot of benefits to making predictions at a site that’s so well established, because they already have these services in place.
License & security
Just like I explained in my ROLR review, the way that DraftKings Predictions is regulated is a little bit different to the other platforms that it offers. It’s actually regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which is responsible for all similar prediction market sites. This was super reassuring as it means that the whole site has to adhere to strict regulations and everything is safe. Speaking of security, DraftKings also requires all users to verify their accounts with ID just to confirm that you meet the age and location requirements.
Doing this is fairly straightforward but I’d recommend doing it earlier rather than later to avoid any annoying delays. This is simply because you may not be able to place many trades or withdraw any funds without this. The site also uses 2FA authentication and SSL encryption, so you’ve got peace of mind that all your data is secure.
Final thoughts on DraftKings Predictions
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time exploring the new DraftKings Predictions platform. I found it refreshingly easy to find what I wanted and explore the different markets. It is of course very sports focused so it may be less suited to users looking for other types of markets. But if your main aim is to trade on a variety of sports outcomes, then this is the perfect site for you. From tennis to golf, MLB to the NFL, every popular sport and major league is covered here. Also where you purchase event contracts is up to you thanks to the mobile app that’s available on both Android and Apple devices.
Use the page banners or other links to sign up to DraftKings, and don’t forget to take advantage of the deposit match offer too.
DraftKings Predictions review FAQs
What is the DraftKings Predictions site?
This is the latest platform from DraftKings expanding into the prediction markets space. Here you can trade on event contracts for a variety of different real world outcomes. At prediction market sites, you trade on binary outcomes, usually Yes or No, so you’re essentially predicting whether an outcome will or will not happen.
How does DraftKings Predictions work?
Well the first step is to choose the area that you'd like to trade on and then choose a market. For example, you could trade on the outcome or a sports event. To do this you’d need to choose the event you’re interested in and then select whether you think a person or team will Win or Lose (Yes or No). The price is determined by the likelihood that this event will happen, according to other traders. When you add your prediction to your trade slip, you’ll see your potential profit or total share.
Can I use DraftKings Predictions mobile?
Yes! DraftKings is great at producing fantastic mobile apps and their new prediction market platform is no different. You can download the app from either the Google Play store or the Apple app store. I was able to access all of the same features and found it to be just as easy to use as the desktop site.
