Known for its crypto trading exchange and other financial services, this Crypto.com review is the best way for you to learn all about its latest prediction markets trading site that lets you buy, sell, and hold predictions.

So far, the site’s coming up with impressive results. If you read on, I will explain how prediction markets and trade contracts work here, while also giving you a complete breakdown of its legality, prediction market offering, and other important features to determine if you should sign up or not. Let’s dive into the details and help you get started.

How does Crypto.com Predictions work?

Prediction market trading is a relatively new industry that has emerged and there are numerous operators that offer these services. For example, you can check out my FanDuel predict review for another similar site. Crypto.com has done the same, and it gives you the chance to buy and sell trade contracts relating to real-world predictions such as election results, US government decisions, and sports match results.

This is a P2P prediction trading exchange

Crypto.com allows you to buy, sell, and potentially settle trade contracts worth either $1 or $10 on various different prediction markets. For example, at the time of creating my Crypto.com review, I saw an event prediction on whether the Gold Index Value would be higher than $5,121 on a specific date. You have the option of buying or selling yes or no trade contracts from other customers relating to that prediction. You can then sell them if the price shifts in your favor, or hold them until the event passes, at which point if you got the prediction right, your trade contracts will settle, and you’ll get a $1 or $10 return minus any fees per any successful contract.

Is Crypto.com legit? Looking at its prediction trading core features

Similar to how I did in my Prize Picks review, the first thing I did at Crypto.com was to check its underlying prediction trading features to make sure it was a legit brand. This included looking at the regulatory oversight, security, transparency, and customer support, for example.

It is regulated by the CFTC

Before anything else, I wanted to make sure Crypto.com was legit. Now, I had already signed up some time ago for its crypto trading services, so I was pretty confident it was a legal brand regardless. Still, I double-checked the regulatory oversight, and indeed, the prediction markets section of Crypto.com is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. This is a requirement for sites like this to legally operate in the US. Specifically, Crypto.com Derivatives North America (CDNA), is the regulated exchange that provides the peer to peer prediction trading facilities.

CFTC - Commodity Futures Trading Commission

Sponsored by Crypto.com – Not investment advice. Trading prediction markets and crypto involves risk, including potential loss of your stake. Consider your risk tolerance before participating. Crypto.com connects U.S. users to CDNA (regulated by CFTC) for derivatives trading. CDNA membership required. Trading may not be suitable for all—you could lose your entire investment plus fees. Past performance doesn't guarantee future results. This is not a solicitation or recommendation to trade.

The website security has industry-standard features

For security, you get SSL encryption and HTTPS connectivity as standard, and at the time I created this Crypto.com review, there was an active SSL certificate from Google Trust Services. This operator also has one of the strictest KYC processes I’ve found so far at prediction trading sites. If you want to register an account, you will have to verify your ID fully before you can even log in. This includes uploading a copy of a valid photo ID, and taking a live virtual selfie so that you likeness can be checked. Lastly, there are features like enabling 2FA or more advanced biometric login processes for your account if you want to go further to protect yourself against fraud.

It offers some of the best transparency you will find

I want a prediction trading site that has superb transparency about its operations and Crypto.com definitely does that. It has a huge range of documentation relating to various aspects of the company including proof of reserves, licenses & registration information, security processes, and general terms and conditions. I don’t expect you to read all of these, but it’s great to know that if we do need to find any information out, Crypto.com will most likely provide it.

It has an extensive help database for support

I think the customer support for the desktop website could be improved a little, as I never saw anything like a live chat. There is email support though, and from the test emails I sent, I typically got a reply within 5-6 hours which is OK but not amazing. The thing I was most impressed with was the help center database. This is massive and it has a large selection of guides relating to specific things on the site and app such as security, the shop, KYC checks, and account management.

The app does look to have additional support options though including a live chat. I used this a couple of times, and on each occasion I was connected to a rep within 5 minutes max. They knew their stuff, and I was pleased with the level of support I received.

You can make payments using fiat or crypto

If you want to buy and sell trade contracts at Crypto.com then you will need to deposit money into your account. I found that it supports both crypto and fiat payments which I like as it gives you more flexibility. For crypto, you can either link your own external wallet, such as one from MetaMask, or you can use the wallet that comes with creating a Crypto.com account. Alternatively, for fiat payments, you have a range of standard options like Visa, MasterCard, and PayPal. I’ve used both methods and have never had any problems with either - there is great security, and the processing times are always fast.

Mastercard
Google Pay

It offers a simple trading fee structure

As Crypto.com is a P2P prediction trading site, it has a fee structure for the different actions you can take relating to trade contracts, and I’ve summarized these in the below table:

Action/Contract Type Fee
$1 Contract open/close $0.02
$1 Contract settle N/A (fee waived)
$10 Contract open/close $0.10 exchange + $0.10 tech
$10 Contract settle $0.10 exchange

Compared to other sites I’ve tested I think this fee structure is relatively fair as it equates to roughly a 2% surcharge which still allows for plenty of flexibility for buying and selling contracts and still potentially making a return.

Reviewing the Crypto.com sports predictions

The main prediction section at Crypto.com is the sports predictions. This, by far, has the largest range of prediction markets and the most sub categories. From my experience, I also think it has the largest amount of active traders and trade volume compared to the events section. I love the futures predictions they have for sports, but I believe that they should still add more prediction variety for individual sports matches as opposed to just the simple outright winner predictions.

You can trade predictions on a range of popular sports

For overall sports markets, you have the following options:

  • Basketball.
  • Baseball.
  • Golf.
  • Hockey.
  • Soccer.
  • Football.
  • Motorsports.

This includes the major US pro leagues including the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and MLS. However, there are also plenty of other competitions like European Soccer leagues, PGA golf, and F1 motorsports. For most of these sports categories, you have simple outright predictions for specific games, with yes or no trade contract options for the teams involved.

It supports both outright and futures predictions

While I enjoyed trading predictions for the winners of different games of NBA and European Soccer matches, my favorite section was the futures predictions. These relate to either competition winners, or end of season awards. For example, you have the option of trading predictions on who you think will win the NBA Eastern and Western Conference, but also who will win end of season awards like Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and MVP.

One area I think Crypto.com could improve is the types of predictions for individual games. In most instances, you only have the outright winner option and no team or player proposition predictions.

Reviewing the Crypto.com events predictions

Sports predictions are just one section at Crypto.com, and this site also features a range of event predictions. These are markets for real-world events spread across a range of different categories that are NOT sports. Overall, I think this section is fine, and it does have some interesting predictions, BUT, it’s definitely not the largest selection I’ve seen.

You can trade predictions for a variety of event types

In terms of sub-categories, you can currently trade predictions for the following:

  • Financials.
  • Politics.
  • Crypto.
  • Companies.
  • Economics.
  • Climate.

I really like the financials section as I’ve always had an interest in the price of Gold and Silver, and here you can buy and sell predictions relating to the daily price shift of these precious metals as well as Crude Oil. Not only that, but they have predictions for the value of different indexes such as the US Tech 100 Index.

The politics section is one of the more detailed and you can trade predictions for different US government features like Presidential election candidates, election results, and the Senate and House of Representatives races for different states. The climate and crypto prediction categories are the least detailed, and on some occasions I couldn’t even see single predictions for these two sections.

I think it needs to expand its events trading offering

The events trading section certainly has potential. BUT, I’ve tested plenty of other prediction markets exchanges, and Crypto.com still has a long way to go. It definitely needs to expand the individual predictions within each category while also adding more overall categories. I expect this will come in time as the predictions section gains more attention and increases its user base.

How I found the mobile and desktop usability of Crypto.com

Navigate through Crypto.com desktop site with ease
Download the Crypto.com app and sign up today!

Similar to what I did with my Polymarket review, I spent a good chunk of time assessing the usability of both the Crypto.com website and mobile apps. I rate it highly in this regard as it has a clean and modern website, and two highly-rated apps that you can get from the Google Play Store or App Store.

I love the sleek design of the desktop website

The Crypto.com features a modern color scheme and menus that I think enhance the text readability. From a technical perspective I’ve also found the page speeds to be fast, and never saw any loading errors or incomplete content. Please remember that the prediction trading exchange is just one section of the overall site, and you can also access its other features such as its complete crypto trading exchange and banking services.

For the actual prediction trading part of the site, I think they have done a great job of keeping it separate and giving it its own distinct look and style. On the predictions homepage, you can easily switch between the events and sports predictions, and then there is a handy menu underneath that for the sub categories. I like the layout of the individual prediction markets too. On the page, you usually get a graph that relates to the prediction. For example, I saw a prediction on the price of Gold, and the graph displayed the change in Gold price over the last year. There are also all the prediction yes or no trade contract options - it’s just easy to use and great for beginners.

There are two downloadable mobile apps for the Crypto.com site

If, like me, you prefer to trade using your smartphone, Crypto.com has you covered as it features two downloadable mobile apps:

  • Google Play Store App: 4.4 star rating from over 680,000 reviews.
  • App Store App: 4.7 star rating from over 324,000 reviews.

These are really high ratings and I checked out some of the reviews from individual users - most speak about the usability of the apps, the high quality customer support, and the different features it has both for predictions and general crypto trading. I tested both versions of the app and agreed with these statements. The app looks just as good as the desktop website and it is really easy to use.

You can manage your account quickly, make deposits and withdrawals with ease, and keep track of your trade contract value. The only thing I noticed is that like the desktop website, the apps are still geared towards the crypto exchange as opposed to the prediction trading and I do think that they need to overall develop this section and its features as its popularity grows.

Are there any promotions at Crypto.com for prediction traders?

I did look at the potential promotions this predictions site offers, like I did in my Underdog predict review, but I didn’t have high hopes. This is because from my experiences, prediction trading exchanges don’t often have too many promotions - it’s just not how these sites work.

There isn’t a dedicated predictions welcome bonus

If you’ve used online sportsbooks or casinos before, you’ll know that there are usually welcome bonuses. This just isn’t the case with Crypto.com and trading prediction sites in general. If you sign up to Crypto.com, you can potentially get a type of bonus specifically for the crypto exchange, but NOT for the prediction trading side of the site.

The exchange welcome bonus gives you the chance to get up to $2,500 in BTC in CRO rewards when you achieve specific trading milestones such as trading $100 or $500 in your account. This COULD be an excellent introduction to the site if you intend to use both the crypto trading exchange, and the prediction markets.

It does have features like staking and crypto rewards

The only real promotional features I found were the different staking and/or crypto rewards which are standard for crypto exchanges. Oftentimes, you’ll find that specific cryptocurrencies will offer rewards or staking rewards as an incentive to hold their tokens. Crypto.com facilitates this for its crypto exchange, and at the time of writing this Crypto.com review, I saw the following potential reward rates:

  • Bitcoin: 1.5%.
  • Dai: Up to 2%.
  • Avalanche: Up to 2%.
  • Cronos: Up to 1.5%.

Again, as with the welcome bonus, this doesn’t really have anything to do with the prediction markets side of the site, but you could consider it if you intend to use and trade crypto here also.

Final verdict - what did I think of Crypto.com Predictions?

That’s my Crypto.com review complete, so, would I recommend it or not? I definitely would! Although I think the prediction trading area of the site still has room for development in terms of the number of predictions it offers, it has a great start, and it offers one of the more diverse sets of sports predictions you will find. I especially like the futures predictions it offers such as for NBA and NFL end-of-season awards.

The prediction setup is complemented by the superior quality of the apps and website, plus the simple fee structure, and the existing Crypto.com payment infrastructure. I think this site could be great for beginners who are perhaps dipping their toes in the world of prediction trading due to its simple interface, and if you want to try it yourself, feel free to click any of the banners or links I've highlighted on this page to get signed up.
