The welcome bonus from bwin comes in the shape of a £30 free bet when you open your initial account with the company. The customer is required to deposit a minimum of £10 within 30 days of signing up. bwin will then double the value up to a maximum of £30 matching the initial deposit on the account.

The downside to this is that you won’t be able to withdraw any winning from the bonus account until a bet equivalent to three time the initial deposit plus the bonus bet.

The bwin interface is probably one of the most recognisable looks with its distinct black and yellow edge. It looks busy and a proper sports website offering a lot of choice and with a central ‘Live Highlights (in-play) column.

The ‘My Favourite’ facility on the left-hand side menu column allows users to organise their chosen sports and betting mediums.

Bet Services are also available in the first column providing visitors with access to ‘Livescore’, the latest in-play markets in a click plus the Statistics’ area offers a plethora of up-to-the-minute information on football, tennis, ice hockey, basketball, handball and a number of other sports.

The ‘Last minute bets’ section is really useful as it counts down to events just about to start prompting punters to make quick selections.

The main middle column offers a selection of novel ‘highlight’ menus including ‘Live’ highlights, ‘United Kingdom Highlights’ and ‘International highlights’.

The right-hand side column motions the user towards their own bets, live casino and the sites most popular wagers as well as a handy sporting calendar.

The interface is overall an enjoyable easy to navigate experience one that can only encourage the customer to return.

There is a phone number displayed but the opening hours are limited and should really be updated to a 24-hour service. The absence of a ‘chat’ capacity is also a disappointment for the site.

Much like most of the other big company’s bwin has embraced the demand for live streaming content with a wide selection of events available following the placing of a bet. A video icon is highlighted alongside a contest where live streaming is available. The stream plays directly above your betting slip while ‘Live Markets’ are visible on the main body of the menu.

The video is also available to view with the ‘full screen’ facility.

There is however no live audio (commentary or radio) meaning coverage is not provided on Premier League matches and there is no continuous horse racing and greyhound radio.

Possibly one of the best features of the bwin site is the in-play facility which appears to be one of the most up to the minute portals on the web.

The markets are available across a high number of sports. In-play football for instance has a high-tech drop down menu offering stats, scores and ‘flow of the game’ animation that you can sit back and watch. It could be further enhanced by an audio overlay.

If you click ion a live game it opens up to present an exciting page showing the status of lots of in-play markets in spellbinding fashion.

This is another stand-out part of the site with the football fan more than well-catered for.

As previously mentioned the first column offers a stats tool that when clicked enables the user to view a staggering amount of facts and figures to assist in the betting experience.

Fans can click Europe – England – Premier League for instance and gain access to individual clubs, tables, teams, players, head to heads, and fixtures as well as a divisional overview of scorers, discipline and injury stats.

Bwin Overall

Although it can be said that bwin has its shortcomings in some sports, particularly horse racing, the site is generally solid and tight on its presence on mobile, tablet, laptop and PC. The interface is extremely user-friendly with the mobile app offering and providing all the main features of the bwin desktop site and it provides as easy to use experience.

Overall the bwin site is easy to navigate with most ‘punter-friendly’ options readily available.

I’ve been using Bwin for years and it’s one of my favourites sites. It was one of the first sites I’ve ever used, very easy and intuitive to navigate, it works very well in app mode too. No problem with withdrawals and the customer service people are always there to help.
