Betfair is one of the most famous destinations in the online gambling world. How much do you know about its attractions, games, sports, and more? Our Betfair review covers everything to find out what put it on the map.
You’re going to have questions before you visit. Is Betfair legal? We’ll give you licensing information, facts about their sportsbook, casino, poker, and other areas to visit. Read our Betfair review before you book a ticket to see it all. We’ll guide you around the different site areas to show the highlights and more.
Sites with as many varied areas as Betfair usually give you an assortment of attractions to claim for each section. So, you may see some aimed at sportsbook fans and others for those who want to relax and take a break in the casino. We’ll fill you in on the best Betfair promo code to use.
The landing page you see upon touching down at Betfair gives you the main attraction for new customers. Below that, there are several offers for that day, so you may see varied ones depending on when you visit. Of course, Betfair also appeals to visitors from different countries. This means you may see different deals if you’re in the US rather than the UK. This is a strong offer though, as it means they will tailor your bonus journey toward you and your location. We can enhance our Betfair rating to a higher level thanks to this feature.
Usability is a key segment of our Betfair review, just as it was with our Pointsbet review. It doesn’t answer the question, ‘Is Betfair legit?’ but it does help us form a first impression of this destination. The homepage may vary in its bonus content depending on where you’re based. However, the UK destination recently included the main offer available when you buy a ticket to join, along with a few other offers.
We loved the yellow colour scheme though, especially as it made all the entries in the main menu easier to see. At Betfair, reliable access to the sportsbook, exchange, poker, casino, and other areas is achieved in a second. Underneath the main menu strip, you’ll see another submenu. The entries in that section change according to where you are at this destination. It keeps the site uncluttered and gives you a chance to get your bearings from the moment you arrive.
Head for the help area when you arrive at Betfair. Review the section headed, ‘What can we help you with?’ There isn’t a banking page, but you can find out about queries relating to deposits and withdrawals there. Available methods may differ depending on where you are in the world. For example, UK players can no longer use credit cards to make deposits, even if attempting to do so via PayPal.
Typical methods available include:
Check availability of your preferred method in your country before using it. Betfair also uses a closed loop policy. Whichever method you decide to use to deposit with, you’ll need to withdraw back to that same method. So, PayPal deposits would need to be withdrawn back to PayPal. This follows regulations, and works on net deposits, i.e., your deposits less your withdrawals.
Always head for the help section – accessed from the top or bottom of the page you’re visiting – whenever you have a query. Top queries are there first, but you also get eight sections on various topics below those main queries. That’s the home page, but you can steer through to the main help topics area too. There were 324 results inside all the topic areas on that page. Customer service features heavily in all our ratings, including our 4NJBets rating, for example.
We hoped our Betfair review would include details of how to directly contact the site. Underneath ‘help with something else’ you will see a messaging invite. You’re asked to log into your account to use this, but it is the fastest way to receive assistance while on your travels around the Betfair site. They also have one of the biggest FAQ areas in the help section that we have ever seen. It is certainly an excellent way to learn more about this destination.
We feel this is one of the most important areas of our Betfair review. The information discovered here will influence our Betfair rating. The site is run by PPB Counterparty Services Limited, registered in Malta. They list their licence number for the Malta Gaming Authority, and we found we could go straight to that site to confirm the information.
The UK-based site included relevant information on licensing for the UK Gambling Commission. Of course, the licenses needed in different countries will vary, so check this information at the bottom of the Betfair site when you visit. At Betfair, secure access is vital, and so they only allow over 18s to join. You should be aware if a higher limit is in force in your country, however. The site is also secured by Norton.
The takeaway here is that their licensing information is clear and supports a positive answer to the question, ‘Is Betfair legit?’, just as we asked, ‘Is Caesars Casino legit?’ elsewhere on our site.
While some destinations have one page for their VIP or loyalty club, that isn’t true of Betfair. Rating this area is tricky as we need to take a trip into each separate area of the site. There are loyalty rewards for poker players, with status points to be earned when betting on their tables.
Meanwhile, a trip to the casino area reveals that there could be bonus rewards and promotions, as this area changes frequently. When we landed in the sportsbook promotions area, we found that we could go through to other promo areas for different sections. However, there was little sign of any further VIP potential beyond the information we have already shared. They tend to reveal promotions far more commonly than VIP statuses or comp points. As always, though, this may change depending on the country you’re in.
From the homepage of the sportsbook, we can see 31 sports at the beginning of the submenu. Use the dropdown feature to see them all. There is no Betfair scam here – you get all the top sports, listed in no specific order. The most popular ones appear in the submenu anyway.
The main sportsbook page displays the sport highlights. Meanwhile, there are quick links to the events in play now, along with links to the most popular events underneath. They will constantly change according to what is happening at any time. Odds Boost events and matches appear on the right, giving you the best odds for certain matches.
We mentioned Odds Boosts above but do check those out on your travels around Betfair. Review the improved deals for matches on the day you visit plus a day or two ahead.
At the bottom of the sportsbook page, you can see that the default odds are fractional. The dropdown reveals you have the chance to change this to decimal. We tried this and the change was immediate, so you won’t be left waiting to depart for your next bet to place on your slip.
Choose a match or event and you’ll be able to view all potential bets and odds for it. It’s simple to add those to your betslip when you’re ready.
The in-play now link is in green, at odds with the colours on the rest of the site. This makes it easy to see when you land on the sportsbook page. The in-play area gives you the number of live events for each sport. Switch sports and you’ll see a list of live matches and scores, plus a list of the next events starting soon.
Again, selecting a match gives you more stats about it, with odds for various outcomes. These will vary depending on the sport. You can see a match view giving the latest information about it, but we couldn’t find any live streaming. We may dip our Betfair rating marginally for that. We believe all our reviews should be accurate, just as our Resorts review is.
We know there is a positive answer to the query, ‘Is Betfair legit?’ However, we did need to dig deep to find information on limits for maximum winnings. We found them in the sportsbook rules and regulations area.
There are maximum payouts for certain areas per day. For example, any Best Odds Guaranteed offer pays out up to £1,000 per day in the UK; you should check the maximum limits enforced in your location by reading the terms and conditions before you use the sportsbook. They list other market limits for various markets and bets in a table on the rules and regulations page, so check there for the latest details before your trip.
There are many positives to take away from this portion of our Betfair review. Is Betfair legit with its sportsbook offer? We believe so, but we would advise you to plan your break there and make sure you know where you are going and learn more about the available deals and offers. Overall, this is a promising site, as you’ll realise when you pack your suitcase to visit the sportsbook for a hike around the various sports areas.
Safe landing in the casino reveals many engaging games. Even if this is your first visit to Betfair, you can soon spot familiar titles from many developers. Our research suggests you’ll spot games from these sources:
It’s easy to view the trending games, where popular titles including Reel King Megaways, Extra Chilli, and Book of Dead are often found. There are plenty of Megaways slots too, as this game mechanic is used by several developers to showcase bigger games with more way wins.
The submenu in the Betfair casino includes many popular gaming venues together with some surprises:
Is Betfair legit with the quantity of jackpot games available? Yes, and there are some major titles there. The Jackpot King-themed games tend to have generous pots to be won, while many of the Age of the Gods series of slots from Playtech feature in that area too. The casino also has assorted versions of blackjack and roulette, while the table games area includes three-card brag, baccarat, and craps among others.
The live casino begins by revealing their featured games, including bonus roulette, the blackjack lobby, and spin and win roulette. Below this, they split the area into live blackjack, roulette, game shows, and the main live casino area. Some – but not all – areas display the minimum and maximum wagers, while certain games list how many seats are still available.
That’s not all though. As you find your bearings in this part of the attraction, you’ll see there are live poker games, baccarat, sic bo, and other variations to try as well. Our Betfair rating for the live casino is about as high as it could go.
Check the available limits for each game before you play. They should appear in your own currency, so you can check them against your available budget. We award our Betfair rating based on many criteria, and limits is one of them. The slots tend to have a bigger array of bets, with some titles starting at the lowest possible coin value and others offering a higher minimum.
However, you can usually load a demo or at least view the game to look through the coin values before you begin. This applies throughout many areas at the casino.
There is a huge collection of games at their casino. This is a site that offers hundreds of games across all the usual categories. Moreover, the variety of developers gives access to many more jackpot games than you’d expect from other destinations. Is Betfair legit? Certainly, especially when you assess the quality of their casino offering. While many games offer demo play, you may find you need to log in to access them. That’s certainly the case in the UK where regulations stipulate this. Check the existing rules in your country to see if this is the same.
Betfair offers an instant play version of their poker section, so you don’t need to download the software if you’d rather not do so. If you choose the instant method, you’ll need to log in or sign up to see your destination. However, the site does reveal that to make the most of all their poker promotions, you will need to register and download their software.
If you go for the download, the idea is to download the New Betfair Poker software and install it before opening an account. There is a simple three-step process to complete. They also have a mobile poker app you can download from the site – we spotted a link in the relevant area of the help section.
We arrived at the cash games quick link in the poker area to find various poker games ready to play, such as:
We can give an excellent Betfair rating for the how to play area as it lists rules for each of the games. Information on blinds, bets, and pot limits are given for each.
Finding rake information was tricky but we spotted it inside the help area. We’d advise you to read through it before you play. A simple rule to remember is that no rake is applied in scenarios where there is no flop. Other than that, rake applies per pot according to how many players are participating. Each game has a maximum amount, so it doesn’t continue to rise indefinitely.
When we arrived on the poker landing page, we could see there were 122 active tournaments. We could view all the tournaments by selecting that option from the submenu. You need to log in to play and to see the active tournaments available and remember that only the downloadable poker client supplies access to those events.
Each tournament lists the name, start time in your local time zone, along with buy-in information, fees, and rebuys if relevant. You can check everything before you choose which event is most attractive to you. With so many going on at one time, it makes sense to check the live list of events whenever you come in for a smooth landing at Betfair.
Different games will have different limits on individual bets for a hand of poker. When playing cash games, you’ll see chips on the table that represent the currency you play in. For example, a chip with 1 on the face of it will be worth $1, £1, or €1, or the equivalent of any other currency you play in.
Alternatively, other games such as speed poker have lower available stakes to play with. You can start with much smaller wagers in this case. Always check the type of game you are playing and confirm the value of each bet before you begin.
There is plenty of information given in the help section and across the submenu of the poker portion of Betfair. Rating this area is simple enough as there is plenty of positive and informative detail included there. We liked the range of available poker games and we felt there were options for everyone from beginners to seasoned online poker players.
If you’re new to Betfair and to poker, start with the smallest bets on speed poker. Exploring tournaments and promotions can come later when you have a little experience. There is a lot to go through and you can certainly learn plenty when you use the Betfair site to play this popular game.
When you dive into the clear waters of our gambling reviews, we hope you can see everything you need to know. A classic bonus on offer her at the moment. Killer platform to be using it on to.
Really enjoying my time here so far.
I find it very…samey. It’s not any different or more exciting than any other places.
Poker is my favourite! I like the casino too, and find both excellent here
the games are fantastic! A huge range of the well known games and good bonuses to use on them! Very exciting
Bet Fair is easy to navigate and has some great odds when betting on your favorite team.
My experience with Betfair was it is a a great site. Joined last night. Won £400 / withdrew it.
Sent all my ID/Verifications. No more than any other site asks for.
My winning are in bank now.
So I have no negatives about Betfair and would recommend it to others.
Betfair probably has the best site to navigate, it’s by far the easiest. Everything is clear and the colour schemes are nice on the eyes and also easy to differentiate between products. Their exchange is somewhat useful to hedge bets and to green book. It might look a bit intimidating at first but it’s a pretty good tool to have and to gain knowledge on. Their cash out can be a bit off at times and they suspend the markets for no apparent reason.. Verification also takes up a bit of time.
When I first tried Betfair a few years back, I didn’t have the best experience. But after reading this review, I decided to give them another try. I must say, they have improved a lot since last time. I am glad that I gave them a second chance.
