Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has delivered the latest Harry Kane news, insisting the striker has not spoken to the club regarding his future.
Rumours have begun circulating this week that the England international has pledged to stay with Tottenham for at least one more season, ending speculation he could leave this summer.
Real Madrid have made no secret of their desire to take the 24-year-old to the Bernabeu, having been impressed with Kane’s consistency when it comes to finding the back of the net.
Kane already has 39 goals in all competitions to his name this term while he broke a Premier League record for the number of goals in a calendar when scoring 39 times in 2017.
Spurs are desperate not to lose their talisman although Pochettino was coy when questioned about the rumours of Kane pledging to stay.
“Harry has been so disappointed after Wednesday he’s not had time to talk to me about his future and his situation,” Pochettino said, referring to his side’s Champions League exit at the hand of Juventus.
When pressed on Kane’s future in north London, the Argentine added: “There are a lot of rumours in football.
“You need to listen and hear and live with these rumours because it’s part of football, and that’s the most important thing.
“The rumours don’t affect us, the team or the club or any of our decisions. I can’t say nothing, though, there are always rumours.”
Kane signed a contract in 2016 to tie him to the club until 2022 and chairman Daniel Levy has warned in the past it would take a world-record sum to prise the striker away.
Having failed to score in his last two outings, Kane will hope to net goal number 40 of the season when Spurs travel to Bournemouth on Sunday.
