In the latest Tottenham news, winger Lucas Moura is confident that his side can overcome Chelsea when they meet at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Brazil international believes his team have started to improve in recent weeks as they try to end their Stamford Bridge hoodoo on Sunday.
Since joining in the January transfer window, Moura has seen Spurs record wins over Manchester United and Arsenal. They have also drawn against Liverpool and Juventus and Mauricio Pochettino’s men look in a good position to finish in the top four.
Spurs sit fourth and have a game in hand over Liverpool who are two points in front of them in third, while they can of course distance themselves even further from the team trying to break into the top four, Chelsea, on Sunday.
Moura has been working hard during the international break and he believes his side can grab all three points against the Blues.
“It’s true, it’s a big game and I can’t wait for it,” the 25-year-old told the club’s official website. “I’m excited to be around, to hopefully be involved and I believe firmly that we can win.
“This year we are very good – we’ve had great games against Manchester United, Arsenal and even against Juventus over the two matches, so I’m sure we can produce a great game against Chelsea also because I think we are very, very talented.
“I’ve been waiting for this kind of match. The Premier League is the best league in the world and I’m happy to be here and to hopefully be involved in a London derby like this. It’s a big, big match, I’m excited for it and this week we will all prepare very well for it.”
Tottenham have not won at Stamford Bridge since 1990 when the two sides played in the Old First Division. However, with Moura raring to go, Spurs can be backed to end that drought at 23/10 with Betfair.
