In the latest Tottenham news, Harry Kane says he is confident he will be back to full fitness before the end of the season, while he is also targeting the Golden Boot.
The striker recently spent a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury and, despite netting his third goal in five starts since returning in Monday’s 2-0 win over Watford, he has struggled to find his usual ferocity.
Inevitably that has led to doubts regarding his fitness heading into this summer’s World Cup with England, with the 24-year-old one of those in contention to captain the Three Lions in Russia.
Saturday sees Tottenham make the trip to West Brom and bet365 have them at 4/11 to win at The Hawthorns.
Kane netted when the pair drew 1-1 in November and will be raring to go as he attempts to hunt down Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.
Salah currently leads the standings with 31 goals but Kane has picked up the gong in each of the last two seasons.
He is currently four adrift on 27 but famously netted seven in his last two league outings last term to pip Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
Tottenham have also still to play Newcastle and Leicester, both at Wembley, and the striker is confident his improving fitness will help him fire in the goals required.
“The ankle is fine,” Kane said. “The ankle is good. It was good to score against Watford and I had a couple of other chances, too.
“I feel fine, I feel good and I am looking forward to the last three weeks of the season.”
He added: “Every striker wants to win it and I am the same. I am not afraid to say so. I want to win at everything I do, whether it is the Golden Boot, every competitive game or even just games with my mates.”
