In the latest Tottenham news, Christian Eriksen is hoping he can replicate his goalscoring form with Demark when he returns to action with Spurs this weekend.
The attacking midfielder has enjoyed a successful international break, scoring both goals as Denmark beat Wales 2-0 in their UEFA Nations League opener on Sunday.
That brace means Eriksen has scored a staggering 15 times in his past 18 international appearances, including a strike against Australia at this summer’s World Cup, although his record at club level is not so impressive, with his last goal for Spurs coming in April.
The 26-year-old did make it to double figures in the Premier League last term with 10 goals to his name and he is hoping to find his scoring touch in the Premier League once again, starting this weekend when Mauricio Pochettino’s side play host to early-season pacesetters Liverpool.
“It’s great to have that form going into the weekend,” Eriksen said. “I’ve always had many shots, even in the Premier League, but I just haven’t scored yet.
“I’m trying to get in good positions in every game to create something or take a shot, but they just keep flying in for the national team.”
Tottenham are priced at 7/4 with bet365 to beat Liverpool on Saturday and they did win the corresponding fixture last season 4-1, although that is their only victory in their last 12 meetings with the Reds.
Eriksen is also yet to score against the Anfield outfit, having originally joined Spurs from Dutch giants Ajax in 2013.
