In the latest Stoke City news, Mame Diouf has urged the Stoke fans to get right behind the players for the full 90 minutes in Sunday’s must-win home clash with Burnley.
The Potters head into the match sitting in 19th spot in the Premier League table and five points from safety.
Manager Paul Lambert has already made it clear he feels his side need to win three of their remaining four games to stand any chance of beating the drop and, with a trip to Liverpool next on the agenda, three points this weekend is a must.
Victory would give the club a much-needed shot in the arm, with the last league success coming against Huddersfield Town way back on January 20.
Stoke have won just six top-flight games all campaign but Senegal international Diouf has made it clear there will be no surrender and wants the fans to do their bit when Sean Dyche’s men come to town.
“We really need the fans behind us from the first whistle to the last on Saturday,” he told Premier League Productions. “We are not going to give up in any way, shape or form and will fight extremely hard to make them happy.
“Burnley have obviously played well all season but, like I say, we will be playing in front of our fans and I know that when that whistle blows they will be right behind us as we go out to win the game.”
Burnley, who are priced at 5/2 to win the match with Sky Bet, will be full of confidence, having won five consecutive matches before going down to Chelsea last time out.
They are looking for a Europa League spot and Dyche will have his men right at it in the Potteries.
