After 13 years in the NFL, Matt Stafford finally got his first playoff victory last week when the Rams grounded the Cardinals 34-11. Now all he has to do to get into the NFC championship game is beat Tom Brady, a quarterback whoâs trying to make his 15th appearance in a league championship. Brady and Buccaneers had a walkover win of their own last week when they beat the Eagles 31-15.
No doubt this game will be more competitive as the Buccaneers enter as three point home favorites, but theyâve now lost to the Rams twice since Brady came to town. Most recently the Rams won 34-24 in Week 3 earlier this season on Monday night and that game wasnât as close as the score would show.
So can the LA Rams beat Brady for a third straight time? I would say yes. The Rams defense is legit, and have sacked opposing QBs 103 times over the last two seasons, mostly without having to blitz. The Bucs offensive line is banged up and saw Tristan Wirfs, center Ryan Jensen, and back up tackle Josh Wells all leave on Sunday. Wirfs and Jensen are both questionable to play against the Rams.
At skill positions the Bucs are still missing their top two running backs Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones and key wide receivers Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin. All of these injuries will add up, head to some of the best football betting sites and take the Rams to win straight up and cover the three point spread.
Both of these teams are known for high powered offenses as the Rams average 27.1 points per game and the Bucs average 30.1. Although Iâve mainly highlighted the Bucs injuries to this point the Rams are thin at safety and even had to bring veteran Eric Weddle out of a two year long retirement to help. Brady will undoubtedly take advantage of that in a way that the Cardinals were unable to.
Look for a high-powered, entertaining game on Sunday and take the over from one of the top bookmakers when these two teams meet.
Many had left OBJ for dead after his disappointing seasons in Cleveland, but the receiver has reinvented himself since his appearance in Los Angeles. He now has six touchdowns in his last eight games and is a go-to target for Stafford in the endzone, especially since Cooper Kupp often draws double coverage.
Even if Brady is to lose this game we all know he wonât go down without a fight. The run game has been hampered and Brady has been forced to shoulder much of the load. That hasnât been a problem for him as heâs gone over 300 yards passing in half of his games this season. If you think this game will hit the over, it squares that the Bucs will be able to score at least two TDs in the first half of this game as well.
