In the latest Manchester United news, boss Jose Mourinho has piled pressure on his Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp following some big spending at Anfield over the summer.
The two rivals look like they will once again be battling it out with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal for the English crown in the coming campaign.
Klopp had previously been critical of United’s dealings in the transfer market, especially following the big-money deal to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus two years ago.
However Liverpool, who are 4/1 with bet365 to win the Premier League next season, have splashed the cash this summer to sign the likes of Alisson and Fabinho.
Mourinho has been amused by Liverpool’s recent deals and says he is happy to see Klopp come round to his way of thinking.
Speaking after United’s penalty shootout win over AC Milan, Mourinho said: “I think if you have the money, if you invest well, it is better than to have it in the bank. Because the interest rates are very low.
“The problem is you have to invest well and honestly I think they did very well, because every player they bought are quality players. I’m happy for them.
“And I’m also happy to smile [about Klopp’s previous comments] and to see that, you know, you can change your opinion and change as a person, it’s funny.”
