In the latest Manchester City news, Bernardo Silva hopes the club can dominate the Premier League in the years ahead.
City have won the title twice in the Premier League era and are on course to take the top prize this season as they hold a 13-point lead over Manchester United ahead of Monday’s trip to Stoke.
A win would see the Etihad Stadium side restore their 16-point advantage and Portugal international Silva is keen to wrap up the title as quickly as possible.
City have never managed to defend the Premier League crown and Silva is already looking ahead to the next campaign, and beyond, as he feels the Manchester club can dominate for a number of years.
“Normally the Premier League is so competitive with six clubs fighting for the title,” he told Goal. “So, to have so many points and be so far ahead of the other opponents is great.
“That [sustained dominance] is a big motivation,” he added. “It’s not easy but we want to win the title this season; do it again next season and the next and the next.
“”We have a good squad and an amazing manager. However, our rivals will probably change a few things so it will be very tough.
“There’s United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and also Liverpool, who are playing very well and building a good team as well, but we will try to build a legacy because we feel we have the conditions to do it.”
City will have David Silva available for the trip to Stoke after he missed the Champions League game against Basel due to personal reasons.
Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho are rated as doubts with respective hamstring problems but both are back in training.
Fabian Delph is also a doubt with a knock after returning from suspension.
