In the latest Liverpool News, manager Jurgen Klopp claims he always knew Mohamed Salah had the ability to cut it in the Premier League.

The Egyptian international has been a revelation at Anfield this season after making his big-money move from AS Roma over the summer.

Salah bagged himself his 40th goal of the campaign on Saturday, as Liverpool breezed past Bournemouth with a 3-0 victory to put the pressure on Manchester United for that second spot in the Premier League standings.

Having becoming the first player to achieve that figure of 40 goals in a season for Liverpool since Ian Rush in 1986/87, Salah has continued to make the headlines with his performances this term.

After disappointing in the Premier League during his time with Chelsea, questions were raised over whether Salah had the physical capabilities to compete in the English top flight.

However Klopp is adamant he never had any doubts regarding Salah’s attributes and feels the players has been a wonderful addition to the squad on Merseyside.

“When you saw him playing in Rome there was this last question around him: if you don’t play in England, you can’t say yes because it is more physical,” said Klopp.

“But there was a moment when we said, ‘yes, he is kind of smart and he doesn’t need to look like a bodybuilder.'”

Liverpool currently find themselves in the semi-finals of the Champions League with two legs against Serie A giants Roma to look forward to.

The Reds are 9/4 with Ladbrokes to go all the way and claim their sixth European crown this season, while Roma are 8/1 with the same bookmaker to win the Champions League.
