Add another state to the growing list of places where Bet365 now offers online sports betting. Bet365 has launched in West Virginia. The Bet365 sports betting platform is now live in 18 U.S. states. This expansion into West Virginia builds on Bet365's growing presence in regulated U.S. markets. Bet365 has made a concerted effort to expand its sports betting footprint across larger parts of the U.S. regulated market over the past couple of years.

Bet365 has taken a measured approach to entering the U.S. market, not rushing to expand until it had a solid footing.

Bet365 has ramped up its U.S. presence in recent years

Bet365 was among the first sportsbooks to enter the U.S. market when widespread legalization of sports betting was authorized in 2018. Still, Bet365 took a patient approach. While other sports betting sites were diving in with both feet, Bet365 opted to dip its toes into the new waters. The company's objective was to solidify the product. They wanted to establish a presence in a few markets before seeking growth. For them, it was about taking the time to study and learn what the market wanted from a sports betting operator.

“For us to be able to translate the success, it’s really taken a lot of patience and a deep understanding of that North American betting landscape,” Bet365 Chief Marketing Officer Stephanie Deflora said during a fireside chat at SBC Summit Americas.

While British-based Bet365 was a worldwide success in Europe and Asia, they weren't expecting that the same blueprint would lead to success in the USA.

“We could not just take the playbook from the UK or another European country and copy that into the United States,” Deflora said. “Every state and every province is unique in its own way.”

Evidence suggests that the Bet365 approach is working

While certainly not on the level of market share that DraftKings and FanDuel can boast, there is solid evidence that the patient approach of Bet365 is paying dividends. The company showed 48% year-over-year U.S. handle growth in the first quarter of 2026.

A study undertaken by gambling market research experts Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, LLC is showing that both Bet365 and Fanatics, so-called smaller sportsbooks, are closing the gap between BetMGM and Caesars in a bid to become the No. 3 sports betting site in the U.S. market.

“The data now points to a potential Fanatics-(Bet)365 overtake,” Eilers & Krejcik projected in their report. “(It’s) an inflection that, in our view, underscores the momentum behind these ascendant challengers, and raises questions for BetMGM and Caesars about product parity and strategic identity.”

Bet365 opened a US headquarters in Colorado, hiring some 1,000 employees. In the past year, the company has launched sports betting sites in five new states: Michigan, West Virginia, Missouri, Maryland, and Kansas.

Bet365 also operates in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia.

West Virginia now offers access to 10 different sportsbooks

The launch of Bet365 moves the number of sports betting sites operating in the state of West Virginia into double digits. They are the 10th sports betting app to be offering their product in the state.

“West Virginia represents another important step in Bet365’s continued expansion across North America,” Trip Stoddard, Head of Development at Bet365, said in a statement.

Also operating in West Virginia are Fanatics, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers, theScore Bet, Betly, and Golden Nugget.
