Delaware-based iGaming company Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has recently backed online casino platform GoldenPark to expand its presence in the Portuguese online gaming market.

GiG’s launch of GoldenPark in the Portuguese-regulated online market holds great significance. This move reinforces their successful partnership that began in Spain in 2019.

It is their second B2B partner brand in Portugal, following Betway’s previous launch. This partnership also marks the GoldenPark brand debut in a market outside Spain. The platform will employ GiG’s renowned player account manager (PAM) and sportsbook.

Portugal’s iGaming market potential

GiG’s platform and sportsbook solutions are tailor-made for operations in highly regulated and intricate markets. It has recently earned the Full-Service Platform and Multi-Channel Supplier of the Year award from eGaming Review (EGR). GiG currently holds licenses in 30 regulated markets and has eight more licenses in progress.

On the other hand, Portugal has a robust and well-structured regulatory framework for online gaming in Europe. The country’s firm taxation system calls for solutions to seize market growth.

GiG’s expertise with a similar model in France allows them to offer customized sportsbook solutions that enable sportsbook operators to adjust margins flexibly. This ensures they can stay competitive and responsive to their customers’ needs.

GiG commercial director David Bonnefous Saavdera expressed satisfaction with GoldenPark’s expansion into Portugal’s online gaming market. He asserts that GiG’s product has proven “adaptable, resilient and perfectly suited to serve the needs of operators in the Iberian Peninsula.”

“I’m also proud that GiG’s expertise enables our partners to develop in a multi-regulation business and gives them the chance to replicate the success they’ve had in their home country.”

Meanwhile, José A Giacomelli, general manager of MGA’s online division, mentioned that the Portuguese regulation poses a significant challenge to their operations. However, he conveyed his joy in partnering with GiG, considering it crucial to their success.

According to Giacomelli, their expansion plans involve robust growth in Portugal. The company asserts that GiG’s platform will be pivotal in reaching this objective.
