The Eagles and Bucs face off Sunday afternoon on Wild Card weekend in a game that should make for a very interesting watch. The Bucs are still one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl and bring back-to-back titles back to Tampa, but they are coming into the playoffs with injury issues and some off-field distractions in recent weeks.
The Eagles won four of their last five games and seem to have found their offensive identity down the stretch after struggling earlier in the season. The Eagles will hope to put together another big playoff run as they did a few years ago with Nick Foles at QB when they made a run to the Super Bowl.
The Bucs are heavy favorites heading into Sunday’s matchup with the Eagles
The Bucs are the heavy favorites heading into this matchup despite their injury woes which shows you how much the oddsmakers value Tom Brady in the postseason. Bucs RB Leonard Fournette looks to be a game-time decision for the Bucs and there are several defensive players for the Bucs that are also questionable. As good as the Bucs are, nearly 9 points seems very high in a playoff game especially against an Eagles team that caught fire down the stretch.

With Fournette questionable for this game, I don’t think he would be that great of a bet here so I like the odds of either Mike Evans or Gronk to find their way into the endzone on Saturday. With Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin no longer available as options for the Bucs Gronk and Evans will need to step up in the playoffs if the Bucs want to repeat as Super Bowl champs again this year.
The weather conditions look perfect in Tampa and I think both QBs will hit their over target on passing yards on Sunday afternoon. Hurts threw the ball well over the back half of the season and the Bucs defense will likely be trying to make sure he beats them through the air so I suspect the Eagles will be forced to throw the ball if they want to keep up with the Bucs offense.
This is a fun prop bet that can make the game a little more exciting. The no-brainer seems like a punt her but if the Bucs get the ball I think they have a great shot to march down the field and put points on the board and put pressure on the Eagles. Taking the Field Goal Attempt to prop bet here may not be a bad idea which will make for a fun first drive of the game to watch.
The Eagles are looking to pull off the big road upset against the Bucs
Hurts added a new wrinkle to the Eagles offense by running the ball much more over the back half of the season and finished the year with 784 yards and 10 TDs on the year. If Hurts can have success running the ball early on, it could be a long day for the Bucs defensively which means the ball would be kept out of Tom Brady’s hands.
Brady will head into this postseason without several key weapons that he had last year but it is difficult to ever bet against Brady. Last year the Bucs entered the postseason as a wild card team that went on the road and beat 3 great teams before winning the Super Bowl. This first playoff game should give a good indication if the Bucs can make a similar run like they did last year.
