Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has attempted to put a positive spin on what has been a disappointing season for the Blues.

Chelsea began the campaign as defending champions but they have been way off the pace in the title race as Manchester City walked away with the top prize this season.

A top-four place has also been missed out on as Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester United have all finished ahead of them and the future of boss Antonio Conte remains in doubt going into the summer.

The Italian says he will reveal whether he is staying at Stamford Bridge after the FA Cup final against United next weekend but Kante still thinks they have plenty to be positive about.

He told the club’s official website: “We have a very good team, a very good team spirit, I have really enjoyed my two seasons with Chelsea and I hope we can win and do the best things in the future.”

Chelsea will hope to end a disappointing campaign on a high at Wembley on May 19 but there looks like being rebuilding job over the summer whoever is named as boss for next season if Conte does depart.

City are unsurprisingly favourites to retain their title in 2018/19 at 4/6 with William Hill, while Chelsea are on offer at 10/1.
