In the latest Chelsea news, manager Antonio Conte has hinted strikers Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata could both start Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Southampton.

The Blues are just one win away from another final and they will head into the game in good spirits after a 2-1 win over Burnley on Thursday night in the league.

That win took Conte’s side just five points behind Tottenham although they still look like finishing outside the top four, but the former Juventus coach is refusing to give up.

He told reporters: “There is a gap between ourselves and Tottenham. We are talking about five points, with four games to go. It won’t be easy, also because it depends on Tottenham’s results. At the same time, you have to try and get three points in every game.

“The only way we can hope until the end is to play with the same will and desire we showed against Burnley and in the second half against Southampton last weekend. Maybe with this desire, this fight to reach a good result, we have a possibility [of securing fourth place].”

While Conte is being linked with the exit door this summer, the Italian is determined to make sure his side wins the FA Cup.

Both Giroud and Morata starred in the win over the Clarets and Conte believes they can continue their good form in the meeting with the Saints at Wembley.

He added: “I was very pleased with their performance. It was the first opportunity I had to play with two strikers with these characteristics.

“For many reasons it had been impossible to try this option [previously]. Now I know I have this option and it could be a possibility for Sunday’s game to play with two strikers, and for the future.

“We have this option, especially as the two players worked so hard during the game, with the ball and without the ball.”

Chelsea will be confident of keeping a clean sheet this weekend and are 14/9 to win to nil with 188bet.
