On August 3, one of Europe’s renowned media companies Catena Media announced it has inked its first large media agreement in North America via a multi-year partnership with the United States media company Advance Local. The agreement will have Catena Media provide online casino and sports betting content to its new business partner, who is also the owner of NJ.com news and information website.
“Sports betting and online casino gaming are rapidly evolving in New Jersey and beyond, and this partnership with Catena Media is a fantastic way for us to engage our readers with top-notch content and help them to better understand the landscape,” Advance Local VP of sports betting & iGaming Howard Kamen said.
The European media company will be responsible to leverage the betting content of its U.S. business counterpart, primarily in ensuring content production for NJ.com. According to multiple reports, revenue will be shared between the two and it is expected that the partnership would be able to generate earnings starting in late Q3 this year.
“This is a forward-looking opportunity for Catena Media, allowing our sports betting experts to engage directly with a broader audience in the New Jersey market and nationally. Our goal is to help readers become more informed with sports betting and online casino products and to help promote a safer and more productive gaming culture.” Catena Media VP of North American content operations Dustin Gouker said.
The partnership with Advance Local is not the first time Catena Media to enter the U.S. market. The company’s debut in the States was in New Jersey back in 2017. Since then, Catena Media has cemented itself as arguably, the largest and leading affiliate of online sports betting as well as casino in North America — and the state ended up becoming one of Catena Media’s biggest and most competitive market in the U.S.
