In the latest Cardiff news, striker Kenneth Zohore says all his focus is currently on pre-season with the club.
Cardiff sealed an unexpected promotion to the Premier League last season under Neil Warnock and have been tipped by many to go straight back down, with bet365 pricing them at 8/11 to be relegated to the Championship.
However, they have been active in the transfer market to try and stave off any potential relegation worries. The Bluebirds have signed winger Josh Murphy for around £11million form Norwich City, while left-back Greg Cunningham has joined from Preston North End for an undisclosed fee.
Goalkeeper Alex Smithies and striker Bobby Reid have also arrived at the Bluebirds from QPR and Bristol City respectively.
Zohore, who scored nine goals in 36 league appearances for his side last season, narrowly missed out on a place in Denmark’s squad for the World Cup, having been initially named in the preliminary 35-man party.
However, he has not let that get him down and the 24-year-old says he is happy to be back in training and playing football.
He said: “Right now, I’m just focussing on pre-season and getting back into top shape. I’ve come back fit and ready to go. It’s a challenge and I’m ready for it – I’m not scared. It’s been my dream since I was a young boy to play in the Premier League.
“The gaffer told me that he thinks the Premier League will actually suit me better than the Championship, too. Even though I’m big and strong, I also like the ball to be on the ground.
“It’s good to have a manager who believes in you and I’m grateful to have him here.”
