Caesars Entertainment opens a permanent sportsbook in Phoenix, Arizona after 258 days of occupying a temporary location at the stadium box office. The grand opening ceremony was held on Tuesday morning in the new Caesars Sportsbook Arizona at Chase Field. It was attended by executives from various companies.
“[Today’s ceremony] means a lot to us, because this has been a labor of love,” David Grolman, Caesars Sportsbook’s senior vice president of operations, told BetArizona.com.
“If you had seen the pictures of this space, it was literally empty. And, as folks know, there are supply chain issues everywhere. So, to get this thing over the line feels really good.”
The permanent sportsbook occupies 22,300-square-foot of space and is two-story high decored with forest-green tiled walls. The venue will have Guy Fieri’s touch who will open his DTPHX Kitchen + Bar concept as another food and drink option.
The Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball welcome the opening of the new sportsbook in their home state. The president and CEO of the team Derrick Hall is looking forward to the event. Just before the launch of the Arizona sports betting apps on September 9.
“We’ve been excited about this since well before we broke ground back in September,” Hall said. He then said the team wants to partner with a top-class brand.
“The partnership [with Caesars Sportsbook] was most important, because we wanted to make sure that we partnered with a brand that was top-class, in terms of history and experience in hospitality,” Hall said.
He said Caesars fulfilled the requirement and the team is really excited about the partnership. Especially for the fans as well as non-fans who can now enjoy the sportsbook for a long time.
“And for us, Caesars was that brand. So we’re really excited about this. And this is going to enhance the experience for our fans as well. Because this is not just a day-of-game destination. It’s going to be a year-round one that fans and non-fans are going to enjoy.”
