In the latest Brighton news, captain Bruno has called on the club’s fans to create an electric atmosphere for Saturday’s home clash with relegation rivals Huddersfield.
Brighton, who are 16/1 to be relegated with bet365, have enjoyed a decent maiden campaign in the Premier League but need to keep their cool in the remaining weeks to avoid slipping down to the Championship.
The Seagulls currently sit 13th, six points clear of the bottom three, while Huddersfield are in 16th and just three points above the drop zone.
Both sides’ results have dropped away over recent weeks and they will be desperate to use Saturday’s clash to try and return to winning ways.
Chris Hughton’s men have lost three games on the bounce, failing to score in any of them, but they have won four of their last five games on home soil.
Meanwhile, Huddersfield have not won in four outings, losing three and drawing one, and they have only won one of their last seven away games in the league, not hitting the back of the net in five of them.
Bruno believes Saturday’s outing will prove crucial in deciding who goes down this season and has urged the fans to raise the roof at the Amex Stadium.
“It’s going to be like a cup final for both teams. We’re in a similar situation and it’s going to be so important. After that game, we’ll see where we are for the last six games of the season,” Bruno told the club’s official website.
“We’ll approach the game as calm as possible, you cannot get stressed, you just have to play your game.
“It’s going to be a special game and we’re going to need the fans as always. They’re always next to us, supporting us, and we’ll need that electric atmosphere. They can be the extra man on the pitch and we want to play with them.”
