In the latest Brazil news, Philippe Coutinho has heaped the praise on coach Tite after admitting his side have endured a tough start in the World Cup.
The Selecao were held to a draw by Switzerland in their opening Group E fixture before securing a 2-0 win over Costa Rica.
Coutinho broke the deadlock in the win over Costa Rica in injury time before Paris-Saint Germain star Neymar made sure of the result with virtually the last kick of the game as the Central Americans had committed men forward.
That scoreline flattered the South American heavyweights and Coutinho admits it was a tricky clash for his side.
The Barcelona man praised coach Tite afterwards as he feels the manager knows how to get the best out of his squad.
“It was a tough game as we expected,” Coutinho, who has scored in both of Brazil’s games, told reporters. “We showed good patience to play until the last minute where we were rewarded with those two goals.
“We know the responsibility is huge when you’re playing for Brazil. Emotionally, the professor [Tite] always highlights the mental strength we need from the start to the end.”
Coutinho and Neymar are both priced at 22/1 to finish as the tournament’s top goalscorer.
