In this series, the Phillies have a problem with their pitching depth. Kyle Gibson and Noah Syndergaard have not been good enough to make postseason starts.
Atlanta can throw Max Fried or Kyle Wright in the first three games. Jake Odorizzi could throw Game 4, if necessary. Spencer Strider sustained injuries during the regular season. He is currently on the injured reserve. Strider’s health will be closely monitored in the coming days to determine if he is to be added to the NLDS roster.
Although the Phillies are a formidable team, they don’t have the pitching depth necessary to win the series. However, they won’t be swept. Braves win 4 games.
In round one, the Tampa Bay Rays were swept by the Cleveland Guardians. Oscar Gonzalez’s 15th-inning walk-off home run set up an ALDS match against the New York Yankees.
Tampa Bay defeated Cleveland in 24 innings Friday night and Saturday. The series against the New York Yankees won’t start until Tuesday, so it will allow its pitching staff to rest.
New York boasts some of the best sluggers in MLB, including Aaron Judge, the new AL home-run king. It will need to score runs against a team which allowed nine hits in its playoff games.

A strong set of pitchers can make all the difference in the postseason.

Bieber struck out eight batters and allowed only one earned run on three hits in Game 1. In Game 2, McKenzie struck out eight batters in six scoreless innings.
Francona may ask Aaron Civale or Cal Quantrill to pitch four to six solid innings in Game 1 for the Guardians. The bullpen will then be ready to finish the game. In 10.1 innings, the bullpen in Cleveland allowed four hits to Tampa Bay.
Quantrill could be Cleveland’s X-factor if given a chance at Progressive Field. He was 9-0 in the regular season and had a 3.28 ERA in his home park.
The Cleveland bullpen can handle large Game 1 workloads, bridging the gap between McKenzie & Bieber.
The Indians’ pitchers led a major upset win for the Guardians. Guardians in 5.

Justin Verlander is the Astros’ top starting pitcher. They have six postseason-experienced pitchers, which allows them to approach every game with a fresh strategy and some arms that can last multiple innings.
Houston will probably pitch Verlander or Vadez in the first and second games. To start Game 3 in Seattle, you can use any combination Lance McCullers Jr. Luis Garcia and Cristian Javier.
Although the Mariners have been a fantastic story this season, it’s now over. The Astros are simply too good. Astros in 3 games.
