Continuing its aggressive approach to expansion, Bet365 has launched retail and online sports betting sites, as well an online casino in Michigan. Michigan is the 17th state to offer a Bet365 sportsbook, and it is the sixth state in which Bet365 has launched since the start of 2025.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) confirmed the launch of Bet365 in the state. “The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has approved the launch of Hillside Michigan LLC, doing business as Bet365, as the new internet gaming and internet sports betting platform provider for the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, operator of the Odawa Casino in Petoskey,” the statement read.

Bet365 is replacing Poker Stars in the Michigan market

Bet365 is replacing PokerStars, which recently exited the Michigan market. The MGCB confirmed that Bet365 has completed all MGCB licensing and regulatory requirements to serve as the Odawa Tribe’s new platform provider.

“We are pleased to welcome Bet365 as the Tribe’s new platform provider and look forward to seeing the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians continue to provide a safe, responsible, and enjoyable wagering experience for players across the state,” MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams said in a statement.

“This approval reflects our continued focus on maintaining integrity, transparency, and consumer protection in Michigan’s online gaming and sports betting marketplace”

Bet365 is currently listed as the No. 6 U.S. sportsbook in terms of revenue generated, controlling 4% of the market.

"We're excited to bring bet365 to Michigan and introduce a better way to bet," the company said in a statement.

"This is a mature market with knowledgeable fans, and we're confident our product stands apart.

Bet365 has entered into a partnership with the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers

Moving quickly to increase its presence in the Michigan market, Bet365 signed on as sponsor of the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings, MLB’s Detroit Tigers, and 313 Presents. The latter group is the live entertainment joint venture by Tigers and Red Wings owner Ilitch Sports and Entertainment and Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores.

Bet365 will serve as the presenting sponsor on Red Wings and Detroit Tigers MLB broadcasts. This will be on the new Detroit SportsNet streaming service. Interestingly, it is replacing the now-defunct FanDuel Sports Network.

As part of Bet365’s sponsorship of the Wings and Tigers, the betting company is receiving in-stadium and virtual signage. There will be odds integrations as the presenting sponsor of the broadcasts on Detroit SportsNet. Bet365 also gets promotion on team radio and digital channels.

“Bet365 is focused on rooting itself within Michigan's iconic sports and entertainment community,” the company said in a statement. “Our partnership with the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, and 313 Presents pursues our goal of creating meaningful connections with fans and enhancing the way they engage with their favorite experiences.”

Bet365 is eyeing further U.S. expansion

Near Michigan, British-owned Bet365 already has an established presence in neighboring Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Ontario, Canada.

Other states with Bet365 sportsbooks include Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Further expansion into new U.S. markets could be just around the corner for Bet365. The company recently expressed interest in applying for a sports betting license in Massachusetts.

That inquiry led to a decision by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) to reopen the process to submit an application for a sports betting license in the state.
