In football the main way for a team to score points is by scoring a touchdown. They do this by advancing the ball into the opponent’s end zone for six points. The last touchdown scorer is the player who scores the last touchdown in any given game. To find a professional or college football game to bet on and the odds, take a look at our odds comparison page.

How is Last Touchdown Scorer used in Sports Betting?

Much like first, last and anytime goal scorer in soccer, bettors can select the first, last and anytime touchdown scorer in football matches as well. The attraction of choosing the last touchdown scorer bet is that the bet stays open for the entirety of a match – unlike a first touchdown scorer selection, which is settled as soon as the first touchdown is scored.

As with many sports there are many betting markets and bookmakers to choose from when it comes to football but touchdown scorer markets are always popular. This bet can be selected in-play or before a match kicks off but due to the nature of the sport it can be a risky proposition to even expect that a particular player will be on the field towards the end of a match to be able to be the last touchdown scorer.

    Strategies for Last Touchdown Scorer

Choosing the last touchdown scorer can tough in any game, but there are a few strategies that you can employ to increase your chances. For one, look current form of teams and players who are often targeted in the red zone.

    Did You Know…

Franco Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers is one of the most famous last touchdown scorers of all time. His touchdown has become known as ‘the immaculate reception’. It occurred during a match against the Oakland Raiders in 1972 that won the Steelers the match – their first ever playoff win – and started a habit that saw them claim four Super Bowls before the end of the decade. The touchdown is still seen as controversial, as it may well have gone against the rules of the game at the time.

What Does No Touchdown Scorer Mean?

No touchdown scorer means that no player from either team scored a touchdown in the game or match. This can happen if the teams play a scoreless game, both teams only score field goals, or if every scoring play is nullified due to penalty flags.

What Does No Touchdown Scorer Bet Mean?

Touchdown scorer meaning is easy to explain—a “No Touchdown Scorer Bet” is a type of wager in American football in which a bettor selects a team to win the game without any player on that team scoring a touchdown. If no touchdowns are scored by any player on the selected team, the bettor wins his wager. However, if a player from either team scores a touchdown, the bet is lost.
