A coupon is a list of all the football matches which an online bookmaker has available for people to bet on. Different bookmakers might have different names for the coupons they offer, but they all work in a similar manner. The appeal of the coupon is that, for a relatively small stake, they offer the chance of impressive winnings and the excitement of following a raft of football results as they come in.
Although they differ slightly in design or appearance, coupons all follow the same basic format. Down the left hand side there will be a column listing all of the fixtures which it is possible to place bets on, and next to each fixture will be given the odds on a home win, away win or a draw. The bettor will then work through the fixtures they wish to bet on, choosing one of the three options. By choosing multiple fixtures it is possible to opt for a number of single bets or a double treble or larger accumulator bet. At the bottom of the coupon, the bettor will fill in the type of bet they wish to place and the amount of the stake they want to put on it. Bookmakers offer a range of betting options on coupons, such as a win-draw-win accumulator or the chance to predict the final score of a selected 15 matches. Tips for successful coupon betting include not betting on too many matches, as each match increases the odds of at least one selection failing to win, and keeping a firm control of the size of your stake once multiple bets start building up. As with all football betting, the team news from each club could make a huge difference to the way you bet, as could how much is riding on the match and the form or each team prior to kick off.
