Anytime Goalscorer

What is an Anytime Goalscorer Bet?

An anytime goalscrorer bet is a bet placed on goals scored during a football match. Football bets can include anything from the final score and the half time correct score to the number of corners awarded, and in-play betting means that betting can take place throughout the duration of a match. An anytime goalscorer bet is placed on a particular player scoring a goal during the 90 minutes, plus injury time, of a football match.

How is an Anytime Goalscorer bet used in Sports Betting?

The key point to bear in mind when considering an anytime goalscorer bet is that it doesn’t matter when the goal is scored during the match, or whether it is the first, second, third or tenth goal. The bet simply names a player and pays out if that player scores. It should be noted that goals scored in extra time or during penalty shoot-outs don’t count for the purposes of anytime goalscorer bets, and if a bet is placed on a substitute who doesn’t go on to make an appearance then the stake will be returned. If, on the other hand, a substitute makes any kind of appearance without scoring, even if only for a few seconds, then the bet will lose.

Choosing the player to bet on for an anytime goalscorer bet will come down to studying factors such as form, who takes the set pieces and whether the player will definitely be playing. The choice will come down to opting for a noted goalscorer on a good run of form at short odds, or taking the longer odds likely to be offered on a player such as an attacking midfielder or a defender who goes forward for corners. Other factors to bear in mind will be the standard of the opposition team, particularly their defence, and whether the match is expected to be one in which the teams attempt to outscore each other.
