Toals Review and Toals Betting Offers

Founded in 1932, Toals is one of the oldest Northern Irish bookmakers. With over 80 years of experience within the betting industry, they are a company with a huge amount of tradition and hold a very strong local reputation.

Their first shop opened in Ballymena in 1932, and today they hold a network of 50 branches all over Northern Ireland, including in Belfast, which is home to the biggest betting shop anywhere in Ireland or Britain.

Alongside their shops, Toals also offers a telephone betting service that operates seven days a week.

When it comes to online gambling though, Toals are relatively new to the scene.

Due to their locality, they aren’t a household name in the UK, but the move online could potentially change that.

With an online sportsbook and casino service for desktop and mobile, Toals have now opened the doors to a worldwide audience, and though they are still finding their feet, there are a lot of positive signs.

One of their significant developments online is their growing social media presence.

Despite being more of a traditional bookmaker, Toals have identified the importance of engaging with customers online, whether that is promoting special offers, sports news or even competitions.

They have even incorporated live feeds from their social media networks into their main site, a feature which is commonly used by much larger and established sportsbooks.

It is a very positive move, and with thousands of followers across all their social media channels, they are certainly going about things in the right way.

When it comes to sponsorship however, Toals have maintained their very strong link to their customers in Northern Ireland, through their support and relationships with local businesses and sports teams.

For instance, in football, they are currently the betting sponsors for Irish league champions Crusaders FC, as well as the County Antrim FA and its four associated competitions.

In addition, Toals also have an association with the Ulster National at Downpatrick Racecourse on an annual basis.

Perhaps it could be said that they are currently putting too much emphasis on their local customer base, and because of that, they are limiting their visibility to potential punters from not just the rest of the UK, but also across the world.

Having said that, with more bettors moving from shops to online, Toals are at least showing that they are moving with the times and with their extensive knowledge of the industry, that should put them in a good position to adapt to this change.

Pros & Cons of Toals

  • Extensive sportsbook on offer for punters with 25 different sports to bet on.
  • Enticing welcome offer with the opportunity to win £250 worth of free bets when signing up.
  • Impressive variety of additional content with blogs from sports stars previewing events and chances to win prizes through social media.
  • A well respected bookmaker with a long history within the gambling industry.

  • No live streaming available for sporting events to accompany in-play betting.
  • Lack of form and stats for different types of sports.
  • Limited number of options for both deposits and withdrawals with just debit or credit card accepted.
  • No live chat available on site for customers to access if they have any betting queries.

Toals Overall

Prior to their move into online betting, Toals were mostly known for being one of the most respected bookmakers in Northern Ireland. They had a loyal customer base who used their retail and phone services, but with more bettors turning to online, it was the next step to invest in creating an online sportsbook for desktop and mobile devices.

The move on the whole has been a success, with Toals providing a site that is easy to use and has plenty to offer.

Toals have included some really nice features including blogs, as well as some strong promotions and offers to attract new customers.

As with any new site though, there are a couple of issues.

There is a lack of live streaming for in-play betting whilst more banking options could be made available for both deposits and withdrawals.

However, with the background and experience that Toals have within the betting industry, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see these areas improved sooner rather than later.

Toals User Interface

Toals have spent a lot of time and effort developing their online sportsbook and it does seem to be very much a work in progress. New features are being added all the time to the main landing page, so certain areas on the site do look a little out of place.

However, compared to many other sportsbooks, Toals’ site is vibrant with plenty of offers and markets to catch your eye.

At the top of the main page, the latest customer offers are clearly displayed whilst upcoming sports events are cleverly placed underneath, as if to act as a gentle reminder that they are about to get underway.

It could be viewed that the presentation of the site could be improved, as it does look a bit cluttered with so much on show.

On the other hand, it does run quickly and smoothly, with the sportsbook operated by FSB Technology (UK) Ltd, a gambling software company who are licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission in the UK.

Toals Betting Markets

With such a vast amount of experience in the betting industry, there is no surprise to see Toals offer a wide variety of sports markets for both pre-match and live betting.

With the bookmaker based in Northern Ireland, you do get a sense of the locality with the types of sports available with horse racing, greyhounds, football and GAA football and hurling taking precedence.

Niche sports such as handball are also well catered for along with feature sports. Alongside sports betting, Toals also provide an extensive list of casino games with roulette and blackjack dominating what is on offer, whilst punters can also enjoy slots and live poker.

When it comes to individual markets, there is a nice depth to their feature sports, especially for football with more than 60 leagues across 40 countries.

Toals are also very competitive when it comes to the odds and conditions they offer for particular sports such as horse racing.

Just like some of big hitters in the industry such as William Hill and Paddy Power, Toals are also able to offer the ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’ feature for horse racing betting.

This means that if the starting price gets bigger after you have taken an early or show price on a horse, you get paid by the bigger odds.

It is worth noting that this certain feature applies only to UK and Irish horse racing, and it doesn’t apply to special markets or Ante Post bets.

Toals Bonuses and Toals Free Bets

One of the more intriguing aspects about Toals is their welcome offer for new customers, which gives the opportunity for customers to win a free £5 bet every week for a year.

This offer consists of up to £250 in free bets spread over your first and future deposits.

The bonus is released in instalments, so for example, the first £10 are given to you when you have placed five bets in your first week after claiming the offer.

In terms of the rest of the welcome bonus, it is gradually released every week in instalments of £5 on each 10th bet you make during the week.

To qualify for this bonus, each bet must be placed in the value of £5 or more at odds of Evens and all free bets must be wagered within seven days from receiving them, or they will be voided.

Alongside the welcome offer, Toals also provide a number of promotions which many UK punters will be familiar with.

One of those is the 5+ Acca Insurance promotion, where you get a refund if one leg of your football accumulator lets you down.

It can be said that other sites offer a much more comprehensive list of bonuses and promotions, but with Toals relatively new to online betting, you would expect them to increase that list in the future.

Toals Content (Live Streaming, Audio, Radio, Blogs, Previews)

With competition increasing between sportsbooks, additional content is now becoming more of a regular feature to not only inform punters, but also entertain.

Toals have picked up on this trend and deliver a nice range of features on their site and on their social media accounts.

With horse racing playing a pivotal role in their sportsbook, Toals have enlisted the services of jockey Brian Hughes to provide a blog on his rides for a particular day, as well as previews for feature races.

This is a clever touch as it gives punters added insight before they place a bet on a race.

In addition to a blog, Toals are very active on social media, especially on Twitter, where they provide sports news updates and host competitions to increase customer engagement.

The only negative with their content is the lack of live streaming to accompany their in-play betting.

It is a feature that is more common with established sportsbooks, so given Toals have only recently moved into online betting, you would expect them to add this product at a later date.

Toals In-Play Betting

When it comes to in-play betting, Toals offer a very simple and effective service.

There is a strong range of markets for feature sports, especially for football, with in-play betting on handicaps, goals and individual halves.

In terms of more niche sporting events, the in-play betting on offer is much more limited. If in-play handball is your thing, there are other sportsbooks who can offer more comprehensive markets.

With regards to presentation, Toals offer simplicity with live scores, stats and odds clearly displayed, though the graphics are rather basic in comparison to sites such as Bet365.

On top of that, a lack of live streaming puts a further dent into the in-play betting experience on offer.

Punters now want to be able to bet and watch live sporting events so they feel more connected to the action. Without this feature, bettors will tend to look for another service that will offer it to them so this is something that Toals need to rectify.

Toals Stats & Form

Another area that needs improvement is the stats and form that is provided on the site. Currently, Toals don’t offer a database for their sportsbook to include stats on different sports.

The only type of form guide on site is for their horse racing, with a short line on each runner before a race gets underway.

This is pretty poor in comparison to similar sized sportsbooks such as TonyBet, who have an in-depth database that allows customers to access a range of information on different sports teams and players. This leaves them lagging behind in what could be a potential area for strength.

Toals Banking

In terms of deposits and withdrawals, there are limited options available with Toals. Only credit and debit cards are accepted, including Visa, Mastercard, Visa Electron and Maestro.

Other gambling sites have far more options for users to access including E-Wallets, but you would anticipate that this is something Toals will adopt in the future to compete with their online rivals.

Toals Customer Satisfaction

With over eighty years of experience in the betting industry, Toals have a very strong reputation with their customer base.

They are one of the most renowned bookmakers in Northern Ireland and that has been strengthened by their move into online betting.

In terms of their customer service, there a number of options that punters can use if they have any queries.

There is a contacts page on the website which has a phone number and an email address for customers to use as well as a shop locater, so if there is an issue with a specific shop, it can be found on the site.

The only drawback is the absence of a live chat service, which is something that a number of established sportsbooks do have.

Toals Mobile App

Toals may be one of the more old fashioned bookmakers on the market, but that hasn’t stopped them from delving into modern technology to improve and expand their brand.

Along with their desktop site, punters can also access their betting services through an app which is available for both Apple and Android devices.

The app is fast and reliable and includes all the main betting features that can be found on the desktop.

For a company who have only recently moved into online betting, Toals have a very strong product and compared to other similar sized sportsbooks, their app definitely holds its own.
