Grosvenor Sport Review and Promo Codes

Grosvenor Sport was born out of the Grosvenor Casinos brand, which will be familiar to many UK-based bettors. There are more than 50 such casinos in the UK, the company having been established in 1970.

In 2016, a sportsbook arm was launched online under the Grosvenor Sport name. A soft launch in the summer was followed by an official one in November, tying in with the England v Scotland World Cup qualifier that month.

Grosvenor as a whole is owned by the Rank Group, who are also the parent company of the Mecca Bingo clubs in the UK.

As a well-known brand, Grosvenor is clearly hopeful of making an impact in the crowded sportsbook market and in a bid to do so it has teamed with gaming technology firm Kambi to produce its website. It is subsequently very similar to a number of other Kambi clients, such as Unibet and 888sport, both in terms of look and prices.

However, the sportsbook remains a relatively unknown product. For example, it does not have a presence on industry-leading comparison site Oddschecker, while high-profile sports sponsorships have been thin on the ground with arguably the biggest being the 2017 running of the Celebration Mile during Glorious Goodwood. Grosvenor Casinos do, however, currently sponsor Fulham Football Club.

The link with Kambi helps show that Grosvenor are hardly big players in the market right now. They can offer little different in terms of markets to the likes of Unibet, which has a much greater marketing presence, as things stand.

It is still early in the company’s life though and it has clearly been created to give Grosvenor a presence in the sportsbook market. Across the industry, gambling firms are now offering sports betting, casinos and gaming as a package in the same way as telephone, broadband and TV are now sold as one, so in that sense Grosvenor is at least well placed.

Pros & Cons of Grosvenor Sport

    • A well-known and highly-trusted brand – the company as a whole is long established
    • Wide range of markets available across a variety of sports, especially football
    • Highly competitive on price in plenty of markets
    • Ability to search for a bet/market is a big plus

    • Website not the quickest to load
    • Horse racing product lacks depth
    • Some markets lack each-way options (e.g. Wimbledon)

Reasons to Sign Up for Grosvenor Sport

    • Wide range of markets – plenty of higher-profile bookmakers won’t offer you as wide a range of markets as Grosvenor.
    • Competitive prices – will often be found to be offering an industry-best price on certain markets (first goalscorer in football, for example). Whether big-hitters can get their stake on is another matter.
    • Sign-up offer – there’s a double-the-odds offer on your first bet (paid in cash). There is also a bet £10, get £50 offer for existing Grosvenor Casino members.
    • Stats database – a deal with BetRadar means plenty of betting-related stats are available on site, albeit finding what you want is harder than it should be.
    • Grosvenor Goals – customers can enter the free-to-play football prediction game. Win £1million if you can pick 10 first scorers from the 10 selected games. More realistically, it’s £10,000 to anyone who gets 10 anytime scorers.

    Grosvenor Sport Overall

A fairly easy-to-use site offering decent odds and an impressive range of markets makes Grosvenor Sport a decent port of call to the average punter.

A lot of its positive aspects come from its partnership with Kambi – they provide the competitive odds, breadth of markets and very useful bet search tool – but that link also has its negatives.

It is hard to differentiate Grosvenor from other Kambi-backed bookies, such as Unibet and 888sport, and certainly the former offers much more around its basic product than Grosvenor.

However, it is a strong, trusted brand and one certainly worth adding to a portfolio of bookmakers if you like to spread your betting wallet around.

    Grosvenor Sport User Interface

The design of the site will be familiar to those already customers of some other bookmakers, such as Unibet and 888sport. This is due to the firm partnering with Kambi and using what is essentially an off-the-shelf product.

The main market menu – listed by sport and then competitions via a sub-menu – appears down the left-hand side on desktop with the horizontal navigation across the top of the site showcasing Grosvenor’s offers and other products, such as live casino. On mobile, both main menus are accessed via buttons in the top-left hand corner.

The font and colour scheme is easy on the eye with markets having black type on white background and each odds selection being offered as a yellow button, thus making it clear where to click. However, the information can take a while to load – a common issue with Kambi-based sites.

The home page is a tad confusing in the sense that it offers a real mish-mash of events in what appears to be no particular order but the menus do make it easy to find what you are seeking, albeit you may need to make several clicks.

With this in mind, the addition of a search bar is a real plus. Type in the player/team/competition you are looking to bet on and the site will give you filtered options.

    Grosvenor Sport Betting Markets

The tie-up with Kambi means the range of bets is broad across most sports. Those who like to delve deep into sub-markets will certainly be happy.

This is particularly prevalent across the football product, which appears to be the firm’s go-to area, but stretches out to many other sports – you can quickly see that more markets than average are offered for games in ice hockey, basketball and even Australian Rules.

On the downside, the racing product lacks depth. UK and Irish racing is well catered for but those looking to bet on foreign markets, such as the US, will be disappointed.

Another negative is a reluctance to offer each-way bets in some outright markets. For example, Wimbledon – despite having a 6/4 favourite in Roger Federer – had no each-way option for punters during this review.

    Grosvenor Sport Promos and Offers

The current sign-up offer gives the customer double the odds on their first bet with all winnings paid in cash. A maximum stake of £10 applies, however.

There is also a decent ‘bet £10, get £50 in free bets’ offer to anyone opening an account who is already a Grosvenor Casino member. It is certainly not to be sniffed at.

The firm also offers the now fairly-standard ‘best odds guarantee’ on all UK and Irish racing.

On a more day-to-day basis, price boosts on selected matches and enhanced accas in football are both prominent in the left-hand menu.

    Grosvenor Sport Content

Live streaming is available on all UK and Irish racing and ‘selected’ greyhound races but there are no feeds for other sports. In order to watch, you must stake a minimum of £1 on the race in question.

Certain other events can be followed via the ‘Live Score’ section (there’s a link in the left-hand menu) with data provided by BetRadar.

Some of the big sporting events are previewed from a betting perspective via a blog which is Grosvenor Casinos branded and somewhat hidden away – it is accessed via the footer links on the desktop site which disappear on mobile.

These previews are also simply written by ‘our betting expert’ so there’s no ability to judge a specific named tipster on his/her record, as is the case on other bookmaker sites such as Betfair and Unibet.

    Grosvenor Sport  In-Play Offerings

All current in-play markets are accessible via a ‘live right now’ link in the left-hand menu.

From the examples seen, there is an ample range of markets available, although the site’s design means only some show without clicking and opening a ‘concertina’ style menu. While this is also the case for pre-match markets, it becomes more of an issue in-play when odds need to be seen quickly and bets placed immediately.

As needed, the in-running service is backed up by in-play data. For example, on football, corner and card counts were available, alongside the increasingly-familiar pitch graphic showing where the ball is at any one time.

    Grosvenor Sport  Stats & Form

Plenty to go on here with most sports – BetRadar again supplying the information.

The statistics section is certainly useful to those researching their bets, although finding the information you require can be some task.

Again the layout seems somewhat random. Click on Soccer, for example, and you’d expect Premier League stats to be prominent but that is not the case. To alleviate this issue, there is at least the option of a search bar.

Horse racing is again something of a let-down. The stats section offers nothing, while the racecards are hardly of the best layout with clicks on each horse required to bring up any data bar the basics. Having said that, if those clicks are made, there is plenty of info, including details of past runs and comments on its chances.

    Banking with Grosvenor Sport

Visa, MasterCard and Maestro are all useable cards, while PayPal, Neteller, Skrill and Paysafe Card are also accepted methods of payment.

However, those using Neteller and Skrill are unable to claim the welcome bonus.

The banking section of the site ran quickly and had no problems when tested.

    Grosvenor Sport Customer Satisfaction

A round-the-clock live chat facility is offered, as a free phone helpline (0800 083 1990), although this was initially busy when tested.

You can also contact the firm via a regular email address ([email protected]).

There’s no specific support offered via the firm’s Twitter account (@GrosvenorSport) which is lacking followers (less than 400 at time of writing) and interaction. It is a similar tale with the Facebook page of the same handle.

    Grosvenor Sport Mobile App

Available on the Android and iPhone operating systems, it is essentially a wrap of the site with no specific features added.

The good thing is the site has clearly been designed for mobile optimisation so the layout is clearer on a handheld device than desktop.

    Grosvenor Sport Additional Features

The recent rise of the free-to-play game is in evidence at Grosvenor Sport with football prediction game ‘Grosvenor Goals’ offering customers the chance to win £1million.

Needless to say, it’s pretty hard to do so – you need to correctly predict the first goalscorers in 10 selected games. Having run 10 favourites through some random games using the firm’s prices, the chances of nailing this were close to 1.5million to 1 which takes some of the shine off the £1million headline figure.

However, it is more realistic to predict 10 anytime scorers and you can win £10,000 if this happens.

Finally, free bets are on offer to those picking at least five anytime scorers.

    Our Opinions of Grosvenor Sport

This well known casino brand hasn’t differentiated itself yet in the online sportsbook realm. Its odds are competitive but its interface is a cookie cutter sportsbook similar to other Kambi backed sportsbooks.

    1. A top variety of betting markets to choose from
    2. Very competitive odds
    3. Basic website that is sometimes slow and hard to navigate
