If it’s to do with sports, Alyx is always the person to go to. She’s great with everything and really knowledgeable. Just don’t argue with her about Arsenal!

Living in Camden Town, I spent a lot of my childhood playing football (terribly) and pretending to understand cricket. I also went through a punk/goth stage in my teens, until I realised I was far too chatty and upbeat to garner any respect from either community, which led me straight back to my love of sports.

Fast forward a few years later and I would never have imagined that I’d have a job where I get to write about UK and international sports every day. Plus, my role has also opened up a whole world of casino games that I’d never tried before. Although, if I’m honest, I’m still memorising the rules to poker.

If I had to choose one game to rule them all, for me it would have to be blackjack. Simple to learn, and with the perfect balance of luck and skill, blackjack is the epitome of casino gaming, in my opinion. And now, with live casino and video blackjack at my fingertips, I don’t even have to leave my house (or the pub!) in order to get my kicks.

These days, my major love is still football, especially after spending some time in Spain where I had a brief love affair with Valencia C.F, but I’ve also found myself becoming absolutely obsessed with Formula 1. It might have something to do with the fact that I only just passed my driving test at the age of 38 though. But if you want to know the ins and outs of an F1 car, I’m your gal.

Finally, as a sports and casino writer, if I had one piece of advice for anyone interested in these two worlds, it would be this: try everything! With so much choice available online, there really is a sport or game for everyone.

Don’t know a thing about hockey? Read some sportsbook reviews and news articles and place a small bet. You might find it’s your new favourite sport! Don’t understand the rules to roulette, watch a tutorial and then find a great live casino with a croupier that uses real equipment. You’ll get such a thrill, even if you only bet a quid!
