What is Tennis Betting?
Betting on tennis has become increasingly popular due to the amount of tournaments that take place all over the world throughout the year. Bets can be laid on match results and events taking place during a match itself.
Tennis betting covers a vast range of markets and – as with most sports – it is a good idea to do some research into the players, matches and tournaments before making selections.
How is Tennis Betting used in Sports Betting?
Along with football, horse racing and golf, tennis is one of the big favourites when it comes to sports betting. The four main tournaments of the year – Wimbledon, the US Open, the French Open and the Australian Open – are collectively known as the Grand Slam, and attract the most business, but there are many other competitions to choose from and to keep bettors happy.
As with cricket, the surface of the court plays a big part in successfully predicting the outcomes of tennis matches – and different players favour different surfaces such as grass, clay or hardcourt.
Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the players involved is probably the most important thing to take into consideration when it comes to tennis betting. Just because a player is number one in the world when it comes to playing on grass, doesn’t mean that they will be the one to back at a tournament played on clay.
