What is Match Runs?
There are a number of different formats of cricket – test match, one day international and Twenty20 – and this gives a lot of scope for choice of bet when it comes to making a selection. Match runs refers to the total amount of runs made in a particular match. This can be the total for both teams, a single team or even an individual player.
How is Match Runs used in Sports Betting?
The betting markets are fairly similar across all formats of cricket – taking into consideration the specific rules for the particular style of play – and match runs can be applied to them all.
Whether a bettor is selecting the match runs for a player or for the whole game they will usually be able to choose within a range of runs. For example, they could think that there will be 390-400 runs scored in the match and place their stake accordingly.
