How are The Masters used in Sports Betting?
The Masters is a big sports betting event for bookmakers and is quite often the largest golf betting event on the calendar.
A host of markets are made available prior to the tournament such as tournament winner, Make the Cut, top 10 finish, top twenty finish and each-way bets.
There are also in-play options as the odds fluctuate dramatically throughout the four days of play.
For example, Tiger Woods may be the leader after day one making him the tournament favourite, but a bad day on his second round may cause the American to drift out in the betting markets especially if he is four or five shots off the lead come the half way stage.
Did you know…
American Jack Nicklaus holds the record for having won the Masters the most time with six wins to his name.
Upon winning his sixth and final Masters in 1986, the man known as the Golden Bear became the oldest ever winner of the tournament at 46 years and 82 days, a record that still stands to this day.
