What is First Leg 180?
First leg 180 is a darts term used to signify when a player hits the maximum score of 180 in the very first leg of a set or game.
Each player has three darts per throw and the maximum total score that can be achieved with a throw of three darts is 180. A score of 180 consists of landing three treble 20s.
Gaining a first leg 180 gives a player a psychological edge early on in a game or set as it immediately puts the opposing playing under pressure to either match their score, or ensure they record a high three figure score with their next throw.
A first leg 180 is similar to a first dart treble 20 which then sets a player up to land a coveted 180 score.
How is First Leg 180 used in Sports Betting?
In darts there are a host of markets to bet on for total score on a player’s individual throw. For example, a punter can bet on the likelihood of a bullseye being landed in the opening set or leg of a game.
