What is a Double-Double
A triple-double is a term most commonly used in basketball to describe a statistical achievement in which a player gains a "double" digit total in "two" categories. The categories most commonly achieved in a double-double are points, and rebounds, but can include assists, blocks or steals.
How is a Double-Double used in Betting?
Most basketball bookmakers will allow you to place a bet wagering on which player or players will achieve a double-double over the course of a single game. In order to win that bet, the player must achieve double digits in at least two of the five categories listed above.
For instance, a player who finished a game with 24 points and 10 rebounds would have a double-double, while a player with 31 points and 8 blocks would not.
Double-doubles are not uncommon in basketball, but choosing which player will achieve one on a certain night can be tricky. It's best to do research into the teams, players and matchups before you place your bet. A great place to do that research is within our basketball betting strategies page.
